Just watched The Devils....

there are times when i think modern society and it's focus on trivial shitty media is depressing, but if it's a throw up between x-factor and religious witch hunts then I'm all right with primetime television

Not impressed by Promethius. Looked stunning, but thought the story was a mess. Plus for a group of scientists they seems pretty sodding dumb. What was the point of Charlize Theron's character? A big let down.

The Secret In Their Eyes on the other hand!! Finally got round to watching it at the weekend and was blown away. Just brilliant and what a superb twist at the end.

Prometheus was ace. It pretty much all made sense to me, with a few minor quibbles.

A bit pissed off that nowhere is showing the 2D version. Fucking hate 3D.... Plus Scott says the 2D print is beautiful...

Count yourself lucky. I can't see the 3d effect. All I get is a banging headache and nausea and a blurred 2d image. Without the glasses is just worse (although mildly trippy).

Saw Prometheus in 2D. Did indeed look beautiful as you'd expect from Ridley Scott. Shame about the script though and the annoying clattering soundtrack.

Headhunters is a great little thriller. The actor who plays Jaime Lannister in Game of Thrones was in it. Had no idea he wasn't english.

I know to many 'Australian Culture" is an oxymoron, but they really don't help themselves. On a Qantas flight recently the film Chronicle (actually not too bad, certainly better than I expected) was in the Art House section on the entertainment system

I have a "thing" for Julianne Moore and she is great in this. So much so that I had disturbing dreams I fancied Sarah Palin :-(

Prometheus was decent, nowhere near the level of Alien or Aliens, maybe on par with Alien 3. Its a Trilogy anyway, so lets see how it pans out. I enjoyed it and thats all that matters

its a lot of fun, particularly if you are sick of the "celebrity" culture, and "reality" tv in general, although the main focus of the protagonists rage is simply what people, and more widely "civilisation" has become. the celebration of the lowest common denominator.

Watched Prometheus the other day and absolutely loved it, though I do agree with the earlier comment about some of the chacters being unnecessary.

One thing that has been puzzling me though

Why does that space jokey kill himself at the start of the film?
