  1. I'm happy for a smattering of rain to add to the aesthetic - the downpour for Mary J Blige singing No More Drama was perfect. Would also like a couple of decent sunsets if possible.
  2. I haven't been to Glastonbury since 2017 as missed out on 2019 tickets. Its been a long slog - 5 years older and somewhat apprehensive about how i'll cope with the walking (and the drinking) now but I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. We're all 5 days away from being back on site - my excitement is at peak levels. I just can't wait to get back there. I'm excited about the music and acts. I'm excited about a bit of much needed life dialysis. Most of all, I'm really excited to be back in that bubble of kindness, community and fun. Given the state of the world, it will do us all so much good!
  3. Every single Glastonbury I've been to has had a bit of sun...a bit of rain (didn't get tickets in 2019, mind). There will likely be sun, there will likely be rain. Bring your wellies and sun lotion and let's have a party!
  4. Probably walking up and down food stalls deciding I really like the look of one food but deciding to gamble and keep looking...then eventually retracing my steps looking for the original stall again but never finding it due to my rapidly diminishing sobriety.
  5. Never been to strummerville. Never been up ribbon tower (attempted once but being a bit hungover and it was windy which really made me disoriented and I had to come back down). Never been to Rabbit hole or piano bar (don't even know where they are).
  6. My tickets are still showing as tickets will be sent by courier! Nothing has changed! Starting to get very nervous now! Where is the box office if we need to collect them there??
  7. Nothing here yet..with 2 weeks to go I’m developing anxiety! For those that have received tickets did it say they had been sent on see tickets? I haven’t had an email or anything.
  8. This has given me the nudge I needed... Walking boots purchased and will be going on as soon as they arrive!
  9. I get really awful lower back pain standing still for too long. My PT recommend some kettlebell exercises and planks to try and strengthen it a bit before the festival but he also recommended squatting ever so slightly whilst watching things, taking the pressure off the lower back. Probably going to look a bit ridiculous but anything that helps.

    Food prices 2022

Personally, I really enjoy the food at Glastonbury - part of the festival for me. I tend to choose places that look really delicious - as a veggie, it can be really exciting to see good vegan food at festivals. I would pay £10 for a meal in a restaurant so I'm happy to pay it at a festival for food that I enjoy. That being said, I tend to take snacks and breakfast goodies as I don't see the point in paying for breakfast when it's easy enough to take and store crossiants/cereal bars/porridge tubs and they are all pretty good options whilst at the tent.
  11. Also just bought 6 cans of marshmallow brothers.. I was intrigued!
  12. Tried out tent in the local park... It'll hold for one more festival I think but I am lusting after a fresh and black thanks to this place. Also bought a self inflating double mattress. £140 lighter but hoping it will be easier to carry in than our double camp bed that leaves me with bruises on my shoulders from the weight every time.
  13. Fully boosted and healthy hear but covid really knocked me for 6. I recovered and catching covid and bringing it home I can cope with. I desperately do not want to catch covid and be ill whilst at Glastonbury with it. I'll be sanitizing as much as I can but essentially, it's a risk I'm willing to take. Hoping I still have some immunity from March!
  14. 2016 - Heard the radio advice to delay our journey, which we did for a couple hours and then couldn't bare the waiting any more. Bad decision making. Took 9 hours from Plymouth and around 7 of those hours was just stuck getting through Glastonbury area. We were stuck in non-moving traffic for so long that we sat outside on the grass and played a few games of YO Sushi! It took forever! Eventually got to the site about 6pm. Trudged through the mud and before we even got to the gate my husbands knee gave in. Headed to medical tent - provided with a bit of physio, prescription for painkillers and some crutches (not much cop in mud!). He limped through the whole festival. We still had a great time, just not the best start!
  15. The sun is out in Devon at the moment and giving me vibes of laying on the grass at the stone circle, watching the sunset and drinking cider. Bubbling over with excitement right now.
  16. I feel like this is a bit mind blowing to me - I have been five times and never realised there was any music on the Wednesday? I have never seen anything on that day - everything started on the Thursday? I didn't go in 2019 mind. Every time we have been we pitch up, get some food.. Go to a couple bars, maybe take a walk to the woods/greenfields and then watch the fireworks. One year we went to deluxe diner and I thought it was great because they had a little band on! Anyway, guess I won't miss much this year!
  17. I was just about to say this! I didn't remember what was sung but two people dueting down under the bridge by the steps at night time and it was all lit up!

    The kids

I have never taken my children (currently 10 and 4) other than to Worthy Pastures last year! BUT...we are letting the 10 year old to come on the Sunday this year. Collecting her from Bath and West early and she is going to stay the night and come back in the morning. I'm excited to have her there.. She will love it! But I'm not ready to give her the whole festival yet!

    Vodka Infusion

We have tried quite a few sweet ones, the top ones I remember- Werthers originals - 9/10 really easy to drink Palma violets - 10/10 my personal fave! Strawberry laces - 4/10 looks like the bottle had worms. Cherry drops - 6/10 it was nice but still very strong vodka flavour. Probably needed more sweets. I am very interested in doing a squashy one! That sounds great! Come back from the festival with no teeth!

    Vodka Infusion

A vodka rainbow! We have pineapple cube and cola cube vodka. We have enough to do another bottle though so need to consider another option I think!
  21. Am I right in remembering it was after the Manchester bombing and Rowena had a bee dress on. It was really quite emotional. Think I may have had a glastonbury cry?
  22. Started a local 21 day challenge today in the hope of building a bit of stamina and shifting a little weight. 1300 cals 1200 steps 2 litres of water and a workout each day. I'm telling myself that as its only for 21 days, I can handle that and then fluff back up with all the cider and food at the festival.
  23. Hacienda classical was a beautiful opening set. I really enjoyed the Syrian Orchastra and also I think bootleg beatles opened one year?
  24. I think Thursday from 3pm - 9pm looks like a fun afternoon/evening! I would be well happy with that!
