Thank you for that link! I read the summary, plus two or three of the more detailed reports. It reminds people that Glastonbury is a massive enterprise, involving all sorts of public services - and that Glasto's efforts to comply with the law in order to keep the festival going are outstanding. And that peeing in the bushes is a really, really bad thing to do!

Mendip Council's reports on the 2015 are very complimentary indeed, which is good! It shows that Glasto bends over backwards in so many respects to accommodate the locals, the punters, the staff and crew etc...

Very impressed and reassured. Thanks again for the link.

This is very interesting. The part about crime decreasing but tent theft increasing super interesting. They definitely do not want any pee on the land. Thanks for posting!

This part also interesting" The key areas that the council would like GFL to build on for future events are:  Better control of late-night noise with particular attention to the Thursday evening/Friday morning"

Wednesday opening ceremony. Also interesting! There is so much in these reports...

" There was a large audience in the Sacred Space on Wednesday evening and significant issues with ingress and egress were observed. This area is extremely popular on Wednesday evenings especially if the weather is good. This year a special guest was advertised and due to perform before the firework show so this may have increased the audience. The Sacred Space is a large field with a potential capacity of 30,000 people yet during the rest of the event is more of a quiet chill out space and would be highly unlikely to ever reach the maximum capacity. Although the field is large the entrances are not and are insufficient to ensure the recommended exit times required in the event of an emergency or indeed even for audience comfort. On the Wednesday evening there were significant bottlenecks at the entrances on the south and west entrances, with the east and north entrances being free flowing. The crowd density was not evenly spread throughout the field either with more people in the south part of the field than the north. There were also long queues for the toilets. A further bottleneck was observed between the healing and craft fields into Croissant Neuf and Green Futures during egress. There needs to be better crowd management plans in place if the firework show is to continue to be so popular and a rethink on whether this space is appropriate for special guest appearances on Wednesday evening. The communications plan for special guests needs to be considered as can impact on crowd management plans. The special guest was the Mexican Danza de los Voladores shown above which was later moved to the Circus Field."

A very good link thanks. I've read some of this stuff before but something that caught my eye tonight.

There are always folks looking for offsite camping, particularly campervanners so thought the list below might be of use for now or in the future - taken from the offsite camping report of the councils.

In 2015 there were a total of 18 sites with a total of 21 different operators (some sites have multiple companies operating that we need to work with separately).

1. Ashcombe Farm

2. Camp Kerala

3. Cockmill Hideaway

4. Festibell (new site for 2015)

5. Fly Glastonbury/Windinglake Farm

6. Land n Sky

7. Love Fields

8. Manor Farm

9. Pennard Hill Farm (Stickleball Lane)

10. Pennard Orchard

11. Pilton Hill Camping

12. Pop Up Hotel

13. Pop Up Motel

14. Snooze Box

15. Tangerine Fields

16. Wood land retreats-Wild Meadow Village

17. Yurtel

18. Zooloo Powder Room

I wasn't at the festival in 2015 but in 2014 it was much as described there. Very crowded and a lot of p!ssing in the hedges as there were very few toilets anywhere near. In 2013 it was less busy and much more relaxed also there seemed to be "Green Police" admonishing those relieving themselves in the shrubbery.

I will avoid the area this time around and probably just chill somewhere else.
