Pub Crawl..?

Guest Turts

I just wondered if there was a map showing locations of pubs?

I know we can just wander along from pub to pub as we find them - and we probably will - but it would be nice to have a map to minimise dryness between locations... :P

Any ideas?

I fully intend visiting the cider bus and the brothers bar, plus the queens head. I was just after a more comprehensive map for where each alcohol selling establishment as you so aptly put it is. I just want the enjoyment of putting together a route to get me in the mood...

The crawl would take in other sights around the festival, I'm not intending on just sitting in the pubs drinking as that would be a waste of my day. Too much to see to sit around for too long... :P

Some recommendations:

The Red Flag in the Acoustic field for real ale.

The Bread and Roses in the central markets has seating and a secluded 'garden' area at the back. Opens late.

The Bimble Inn (will be up near the park this year) is in a tipi-like tent, has real ale, quaint little place.

The Queens Head is worth a mention because it's a music stage too.

And of course the cider bus! But be warned, a session there is dangerous :P

Hi

Where was the Bimble Inn last year ?

Prob walked past it loads of times , I may have gone in , I can't remember !

Also whilst I have mo , last year I went for a wander along the railway track near Lost Vaguness heading towards the fence

and dropped down the embankment where some people camp in the embankment tree's. There was what I would

describe as a south sea's type of bar , which was prob between the railway line and tipi village.

Did I dream it or was it real and what was it !, and will it return.

Sorry to ask so many questions

<_<

Yes I found that bar by the railway, was down some steps and had a covered seated area, hid from a bit of rain there. I think it sold cans of beer as far as I remember.

    • If you didn't see melt banana at Apolo. Go see them at the festival. Insane.
    • Interesting, and thanks for coming back to give an update! I've seen that the second stage looks bigger than usual too, looks to be a Serious Stages - Stellar Stage from distance photos.    Seems like sizing wise stages have been scaled up somewhat this year.
    • I see its cancelled now but they did leave it really late to announce plus they are up against Kelburn Garden Party Festival not to far from the festival site.
    • Easily my favourite set of the day.
