Such sympathy. ;)

I'm not giving up on the Leeds DVD though. I shall endeavour.

And yes I should have gone to Reading, that way I would have had at least one band to have looked forward to on the Sunday.

Anyway lady, Paris in 4 days........................Oh yeah!

Sorry, it is shite that you can't get coverage from Leeds, you'd have thought someone was videoing it!

But Paris, hell yeah not long now!! One of our standing tickets arrived yesterday, the other should arrive today, just got to try and flog the seated tickets to a french tout now, I just need to try and learn french for I would like to sell these tickets!

NME's review wasn't that bad. I thought they were trying to hate it but begrudgingly said it was good. The only real criticism was the guitar solos were too long. In a few instances I think they had a point, the RVM jam was a bit long for a casual onlooker. Coming from the NME that's awesomely good.

the NME review of the whole weekend was pretty shabby IMO. although there was a cool arial picture. saw pj in bits whilst nipping in and out of radio soulwax and the bit at the end. I was pretty smashed by then but they seemed good. I've got to now track down a song they played around half way through as I thought it rocked. completely forgotten everything about it though except I think that the title was probably one word as they kept singing it.

Hey mudfight, I'm pretty sure it's Sad too.

Of course I should have no idea, other than the fact that 'Sad' is f*ckin awesome.

Just a testament to how great this band is, it didn't even make the cut for Binaural. Like countless other PJ songs it could have brought them mainstream success if released as a single. The studio recording is immense! I don't know anyone who doesn't like it.

But yeah, the Reading performance was cool > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84ZrN8a3RVw

    • Electric Callboy just said they'll be touring here next year. I'm not sure there's a poster for it though. I'll look when I'm near some next.      He said we'll see you at Download at a gig before any of the band. Presumably he was trolling. They're in Austria at the moment and Germany tomorrow with a week's break and more shows in Germany. Whilst not impossible to come back here and then go over there again, it seems unlikely.
    • Thomas Partey, knocked back by Canadian immigration now.
    • I'm sure someone can update you on the clashfinder, and it will be pretty accurate by the time the festival comes around. It's a large flat-ish arena with main stage in the open air, no best side I'd say. Leadmill (3rd stage medium tent) is at the back of the main arena, T'Other (2nd stage big tent) 5 min walk round the corner. At full capacity walking around can take a bit more time though. I noticed that The Enemy are scheduled to not fully overlap with Wolf Alice, so you could catch part of their set too.   You can walk around anywhere with a beer, with most bars the usual mass market stuff, but one nice craft ale tent, back of the arena near the Leadmill stage. A main meal will set you back £10-15, but cheaper snacks also available. Expect a pint to be £7-8. Possibly a bit more this year as prices everywhere are increasing.   It's fairly easy to get to from the town centre using the tram, although can be busy at peak times / very busy at curfew. If you like a walk, it's approx 40 mins to Kelham Island (lots of indy venues) and probably an hour to the city, or catch an Uber. There will be loads of 'fringe' music events on around the city right through the weekend. Most are free. Have a wonderful trip, enjoy the festival, and your stay in our city!
    • I think people on a place like this, that clearly value live music more than most, don't. I'd rather an academy than an arena every day. But I could see a few people that care about "the gram" than the actual music wanting an arena experience even if it's a mid sized band.
    • The single worst shout for any slot on any stage in the history of efests. Worse even than the Wursels or The Wombles.    Unlikely I’d be there, but okay with the other two. Boy George is a class act, plus he could DJ in Block 9
