Rock en Seine 2026

Impressive line-up! Though I'd actually want some more non-rock acts spread through the days.

I like Rock en Seine's vibe, we might as well come back again anyway.

It is surprisingly rock-heavy, particularly after this year's line up - and the days are very distinct so an Olivia Rodrigo + Lorde day on the Thursday seems a perfect fit to shift day tickets to a different crowd.  Would still mean a lack of electronic/dance acts which they tend to find room for.

Ok, so you've been there and know the vibe. I'm curious about it. It will be our first time to ReS (4 days) and our experience sofar is related to Rock Werchter, Graspop and Rock am Ring. How different is it besides the starting hours are a bit later the we used to? We're staying at the city-camping a little 3 km cycling away.

How does Rock En Seine compare to Mad Cool? I want to see Nick Cave but don't know where. Comparing both day lineups, MC is a clear winner (and probably my favorite day lineup so far).

MC: Nick Cave + Pulp + David Byrne + Matt Berninger ... insane combination for me

RES: Nick Cave + Black Keys + Franz + Biffy

But RES is much closer to Ghent, Belgium, where I live, obviously. So maybe someone who's been at both could help me decide. 😅

There will be a second announcement

In 2025 it was in February but this year it could be earlier since there's no names announced yet for 27th.

Feels like they need to get the 27th announced before Christmas, and also if it is a shared headliner with the Reading & Leeds then it makes sense for it to be timed to coincide with their announcement.

I haven't been to Graspop or Rock Am Ring but compared to Werchter (or any other major camping festival) I'd say that RES is much more like a series of big concerts rather than a full festival experience.  The vast majority of people will focus on the two biggest stages, either moving between them or waiting at the main stage for their favourites coming on next.  There can be interesting acts on the smaller stages but they draw fairly small crowds, and there is no dedicated DJ area to keep people occupied.  There can be some huge crowd moves between the two biggest stages when there are acts from similar genres involved (the two biggest stages alternate directly).  The atmosphere is fine and there are plenty of people standing around socialising, but most people aren't squeezing every minute out of the schedule!

Thanks for your input, gives me an idea of how it is there. The dedicated DJ-area wont be missed by us, but sorry to hear that smaller stages tend to have little crowds even with interesting smaller bands. And how is the food and drinks over there and the queuing?

Tnx again.

Plenty of bars and there is some variation in the strength rather than being one single lager across whole site, and there is also a craft beer bar of sorts with more variety.  Never takes long to get served, except maybe at the bars closest to the main stage when a headliner is about to start. Food is the usual festival sort of stuff and usual festival sort of prices, no bargains.  But due to the location you can always eat before going in, there's a few places to eat and drink nearby.

It's very relaxed 🙂 People are really friendly. It can become crowded in between the alternating "main" stages, but there's a lot of place to chill outside this area, especially with many trees in the venue.

One can also eat/drink in cafes/restaurants near the festival entrance, on the other side of the river, near the metro. Quite convenient 🙂

Was about to say there's one letter too many for Tame sadly. Balu Brigada would work though yeah.

Could be Tash Sultana.
Three letter act beginng with A surely won't be Air that low down, and given they aren't touring. I'd guess Ash

    • I thought some time back that I could see Get Down Services getting a slot in Woodsies
    • Tickets on sale when I'm abroad (I'm assuming this sells out in minutes), and the actual dates could not be worse for me work-wise. Still going to try to get tickets, of course, but god damn!
    • I'm personally confident that Slipknot will be one of the headliners next year (no insider info just lines up with them likely releasing an album soon)    Then there's the headliner that's never played the festival before which the bookers have alluded to so that's one of Blink, Foos, NIN, Nickelback and possibly Pearl Jam or even Bon Jovi    The third band I also think will be a new headliner who are being bumped up so Deftones, Offspring, Paramore Etc.    I'd love Slipknot, Foos and Paramore but realistically i'd go with Slipknot, Blink and Deftones
    • Loads of people have to listen to music they don't like all day, while at work!   Not much different.
    • Generally shorter too, I imagine. 🙂
