They started teasing the 1st headline for next years edition...

Any guesses?

I would put money on foos. Fairly sure they were down for this just before Taylor's passing and had to cancel. Are the dates anywhere?

I bet on Linkin Park; the last video on social media seems to be a short from their previous concert at Rock in Rio.

Besides that, they are offering tickets on the socials if your comment has the correct name of the band, comments nº1, 21, 2014, and 2026. 2014 was the last year that linking park headline rock in rio.

And today is the anniversary of that show, it was on May 30

Correct. Was going to be Foos, National, Liam Gallagher until the death of Taylor saw them cancel their 2022 tour.

Kinda curious they got Muse as the stand-in for that show and then Muse are the stand-in for Kings of Leon at Mad Cool & NOS Alive this year after Caleb's broken foot. I wanted to go to that Muse RiR show but couldn't get the schedule to work. Was also something Muse had to use a different production to the rest of that tour as the main stage was already committed to travelling from Italy to the UK for other dates that week.

I guess as Foos are announcing autumn shows in Asia and Central America that they could well be active for a 2026 European tour. New drummer or otherwise. Even if, as noted, Linkin Park announced this date first.

What have they done that is relevant since the Angry Mob?

Also, from what I recall, Rock in Rio alternate shows from the two stages, so does it really matter?

valid point but what have Xutos have done that is relevant since god knows when? they are quite probably the other name on the main stage

Xutos are probably the biggest and most relevant portuguese band. I don't particularly like them, but it is not the same as Kaiser Chiefs. That could be strange in a Spanish festival, not in a portuguese festival that Xutos played on every edition.
