You need to chill.

I don't even know who the f**k Ferxxo is, but there is people that will be happy with this announcement. The portuguese promoters (and in every country) book stuff to sell tickets and generate revenue. Of course there is public for this as they are willing to make profit.

We are still waiting for two headliners and dozens of names for Alive, three days of Kalorama (my favorite festival last year), maybe three days of Super Bock Super Rock with a new promoter, concerts in arenas / stadiums.

And if promoters are not bringing mainstream rock bands and they are available (which I think is misleading with so many festivals happening in Europe) there are two main reasons for that: they are too expensive or they know that something from Pop or Hiphop will generate a higher profit.

Agree 100% and that's sad but I see many countries getting a lot of great bands year after year, here in europe is pretty clear, like Germany, England, France, Italy and even other places like Brazil for example, they had Green Day in 2017,2022 and they wil return in 2025, Linkin park was there this month and will come back next year, and they don't even need a festival for that, headline concerts, Taylor swift (who I don't listen to but is a massive name ) just played in portugal in 2024 after all

those years and she's everywhere everytime, that's mindblowing and sad at the same time to our country but nevermid, this is what it is...Sad for us

Wait...What? Are they sure? It's gonna be a BIG deal getting those golden circles tickets, I'm excited again, any guess about when?

Thats what they told me, the people from Green Day's Italy Fan Page, didn't tell me when. Firenze or Werchter, I have my eyes on

As a big Green Day fan, the biggest, if you wanna see them, go abroad, I have lost all hope once again of a Portugal concert in 2025

I highly recommend Rock Werchter, I went there in 2022 and caught several Portuguese people on RHCP day, I went every day and it was worth the price.

The total spent on my trip to Rock Werchter is cheaper than in Portugal if it were all the shows I saw there.
What I saw at Rock Werchter here in Portugal I had to go to 6 festivals.

+ Mark Ambon.

It seems like the main stage on the first day will be something like

Benson Boone - Mark Ambon - Noah Kahan - Olivia Rodrigo

Might be a late start on that day then. I've never heard of Mark Ambon, at all.

OK, just had a listen. It's a bit meh, isn't it.

As soon as they don't make fruit salad like when QOSTA and Sam Smith joined together.

Why not? Saw both of them in the last year, loved both. QOTSA in the Sportpaleis was amazing and Smith is one of my fav festival shows of the year. Would love to see that back to back.

It was ridiculous, basically QOSTA performed for Sam Smith's fans who were at the front of the stage and just sat there waiting for Sam Smith to arrive.

    • Any festival is going to face most of the same limitations just by the nature of the event. It's not realistic to accommodate custom staging that extends out deep into the field. Trying to do so and trying to rebuild those kind of structures at the front of the field every day would severely impact on other performers, potentially even including other headliners. It'd also drive everyone involved insane. The most you can get away with is a basic extension that doesn't hide anything fancy. Remember that a lot of the time on these big choreographed shows, the stage extension itself will contain all manner of things to help the show beyond just being a simple platform. Also remember that these structures are designed to be assembled and operate on perfectly flat stadium or arena floors.   In terms of the stage itself - yes, the Pyramid is undersized (I believe 16 metres wide at rigging level). The de facto industry standard has become 20 metres and so it likely does need increasing and apparently there are plans to do so. But that only helps with artists that can largely confine themselves to the stage.   The Other Stage is already 20 metres - to be exact the Other Stage structure is the same model that Serious Stages provide to Reading, Leeds, Download etc for use as their Main Stage and there's nothing larger (at least off the shelf) in their catalogue. So no reason to change that.
    • Can someone remind me, on Harry Styles specifically - have we had any concrete info on him?   I don't personally remember saying much/anything on him, though I have just been away for a month, so could be forgetting something.
