Did mull it might be Rod for a moment, but he's back stateside.

Could we get a co-headliner option? Know they've been few and far between.

I was thinking co headliner, quite a few bands busy on 12th though.

Or maybe even Duran Duran again but Nile Rogers is elsewhere.

Likely to be a UK/Irish  rock band or equivalent? No work permits needed, transport costs etc at this "late stage". If yes, who are available at "short notice"?

Presumably 1975 given they're only announced for Glastonbury so far. I'm aware it would be unusual given it's not necessarily always the case for all of Glasto's headliners to head to London for this.

Maybe if they throw a bit of cash at Muse to tempt them out of their current 5 Euro dates being enough for their plans this year, that could be an option. Maybe. I dunno.

Though there's always the possibility a name is ready and will be announced this week. I don't know, I don't work in the promoters office.

There is still the remote choice that it could be Springsteen, but I'm ninety-nine percent certain the tour is wrapping in Milan the week before.

Always surprises me he's willing to play Hyde Park again after the time Westminster Council pulled the plug on him.

Muse don't have any UK shows at the moment, do they? Decent shout.

Money talks. But yeah, I think it's a bit of a weird one.

He's said - or at least the press release has - that these shows are for markets not played in either 2023 or 2024, which is what rules London out of the picture for me. Think he'll wrap in Milan and head straight on holiday.

Correct - right now, they don't. In Finland, Sweden, Norway, France and the Netherlands, but not here. Where I'm not sure about them is Chris did a podcast interview a few weeks strongly suggesting the 5 Euro shows they have next summer are it. But equally, never say never.

I think Muse might have outgrown Reading and Leeds to an extent, but never say never.

I mean, I guess it's as much on what Reading's organisers think will appeal to their target market. Or what appeals to their target demographic in this age of R&L essentially now acting like Glastonbury-lite by booking a little bit of everything.

Muse please 🙏

Sat 12th July is the remaining date at BST free and their European tour runs 14th-27th June, so they are free.

Maybe with no new material a festival spot is ideal to just wack out the greatest hits and next summer do the stadium tour on the back of a new album?

Mumford and Sons at Big Weekend...

Surely, surely, they're not on the level here anymore, are they?!

Just saw them play last night at Kentish Town Forum, no support, came on after 9pm, barely played an hour. No thanks. A band with that back catalogue if they aren't having a support should play for 2 hours. They obviously haven't got enough decent material for a proper headline spot.

I thought they could be a shout but they've just announced an arena tour for December including London O2. So I think they're now out of this one.

Tbf, that's just a warm up gig. Literally no chance of that being the case when they actually tour.

    • Tell me more. Last Latitude we went to was '21 - my son was young & had a wagon so we snuck good beers in that way. I remember there being some Brooklyn IPA on sale which was tolerable - are you saying they don't sell anything other than Carlsberg now?! 😳
    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
