Eeeek can't quite believe it, but this was me! &nbsp🤩 I'd been lurking on every forum and reddit thread for months scouting last min competitions and volunteering opportunities, after we were unsuccessful in November sales and April resales.

The rollercoaster was real - the disappointment hearing you're the reserve caller, then some selfish joy when line 1 gets the answer wrong, to pure panic realising you could also fumble it up, to pure JOY!

It ain't over til it's over - see you on the farm! (I promise not to lurk so much and actually contribute a bit now 😅)

I was also the reserve caller in 2016 when I won through bbc radio 1. The guilt and joy is something else. Huge congratulations I so enjoyed hearing you win this morning!!

My friend had an email yesterday saying she’d won a pair of wellies - not quite tickets but at least she’ll be ready for 2027 🤞😋

I won a few tea caddies from comps over the years and the heart drop when you see the you’ve won email for it not to be tickets!

Any more BBC radio competitions running do we know?

In previous years we've had Radio 1, Radio 1xtra, Radio 2, BBC 6 Music and BBC Asian Network run comps.
Some years it's been as close to a week before the festival. Radio 1 did theirs earlier in the week. I've checked the schedules for all those stations but can't seem to find any info on competitions, although there wasn't anything in the schedules about the Radio 1 comp when I checked last week so perhaps they're keeping them more on the DL.
If you check out the presenters socials they sometimes share about competitions running.

Did you manage to get a pack with this year's competition on? I can try to get you one tomorrow as a few of our local supermarkets have had them, though you'll need to get the entry in before midnight!

Only just seen this but thanks for the offer. Managed to get an Oxfam Steward place yesterday so will be on the farm!

Thanks. Thought I’d missed the 6 Music one so good to know it’s not done yet.

Only one done so far is the bbc radio 1 one. When I won in 2016 it was the week of the festival (literally a few days before gates opened) so don’t loose hope yet 🙂

So the Brothers comp has been announced, I think that's all the competitions done. Chances of getting on the farm now are pretty much zero with volunteering places having little if nothing left.

In 2023 I found out 2 weeks before I was heading to the farm after winning on bbc Asian networks. Do not give up! ❤️

I don’t know if it’s been mentioned but, Radio 1xtra is running a competition on Monday during the breakfast show.  Listen out for a Doechii track. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/5FwQySwdSDv4m28yqyYl6SC/1xtra-at-glastonbury

    • So bad honestly. I get that bad weather happens but their communication was non existent. When you're managing crowds of tens of thousands of people, it's just not good enough. I left when Massive Attack was cancelled (the first time) and it genuinely did feel unsafe trying to get out. No one knew what was going on, people still sitting in the ground when there were hoards of people trying to leave, no crowd management at all...   I've been to PS enough times to know sometimes you need to just roll with it but this was way worse than "the bar queue was 30 minutes long".    Today will be better but still feel super disappointed.
