No Burnham bounce with yougov

Thats a weekly one isn't it? He's been PM for two weeks and its been known longer than that. Labour , greens , lib dem's all seemed to be converging around 16/17% beforehand are now labour are breaking away.

 

The polls showing labour ahead have the lib dems down at something like 8%. I guessing as Burnham announces more blue labour policies like restarting north sea drilling those two parties will start to claw back a few of the voters they've lost.

I don't think he will announce restarting north sea drilling. 

 

He'll hint at it instead and kick it down the road.

 

And the plan isn't for new licenses anyway.

yougov seems to be the outlier when it comes to the Burnham bounce.

But also, being a bounce, it was never going to last, but with Reform maybe on the way down, and Tories holding steady, we could end up with Reform, Labour and Tories all between 20 and 25% for a while. A lot of it at moment with Burnham is vibes, and the vibes are currently sexy and are pulling support back from Greens, but the autumn budget is key...will they go big and bold, or will they do very little because they're thinking a 2027 general election?

They can't go big and bold. There isn't enough time between now and October to get big and bold properly consulted on and budgeted.

 

So very little.

 

And having waited 20 years to become PM, Burnham's not going to risk losing power in an election, I'm sure he'll drag it out.

Burnham is not serious about tackling climate change. Having conditions on govt contractors is one of the easiest ways to drive standards and behaviour.

Not at all impressed with Polanski saying "noone should be barred from public life" wrt the Tory neo-nazi. I really don't think "no nazis in politics" should be an excessive standard.
