BBC radio 1 big weekend 2024

I suspect they’ll encourage attendees from out of town to get the train to Luton Airport Parkway, and then take shuttle buses up to Stockwood Park.

It’s a bit of a walk from the town centre station, and mostly uphill.

It’s easy to reach the park from the M1, though I wouldn’t think there would be much space for a car park once all the stages are set up.

Since they’ve made the event bigger I’m now expecting tickets £50-£70 per day tbh

Seems very unlikely given it was £20 last year.

Its not like Luton is a massive metropolitan area either.

But if they’re supersizing, needing more resources etc etc

But are they? Its 33k per day which means more ticket money

dundee was 27k so barely smaller and had the same stages - am i missing something here

My logic was if Friday is a full day now, maybe from 11am, then more resources, so means ticket prices will go up a lot.

Its an extra 4 hours of music in the grand scheme of a 3 day festival

Prices aren't going to double! maybe up £10 for the friday tops

So, as someone who hasn’t listened to Radio 1 for the last 10 years, I’ve been wondering, would there be a chance of any of the following appearing:

Foo Fighters

Green Day

Liam Gallagher

Slim to nil, to be honest. Foo Fighters you might be in with a chance of - but the Radio 1 Playlist is usually a good indicator of who might be booked.

I’ve heard that it’s Justin Timberlake, Nicki Minaj and Dua Lipa signed up to headline.

Local news website reporting that an Ed Sheeran lookalike popped up at several locations in town towards the end of the week, asking what people thought to R1 Big Weekend being held in Luton.

Make of that what you will!
