pinched from Kalorama thread…

Aphex, YYYs, Belle and Sebastian, Jose Gonzalez, M83, Siouxsie, slowThai, young fathers and shame all added to Kalorama.

Hoping Cala Mijas gets a few of these 🤞

It’s going to look even worse if Arcade Fire pull out!

All they had to do was more or less match Kalorama with the bigger names on each announcement.

It’s inevitable that people are going to compare - it leaves a bad taste.

There must be some things to be announced for the second day. Amyl and the sniffers are not big enough to support the Strokes. Like this is where the yyys would fit….?

Funny. Judging by the number of acts each day and comparing it 2022, that looks to be mostly a complete lineup.

That said, The Strokes day is significantly weaker than the AF day. I mean all of the Thursday's second line is bigger than Amyl.

Happy with Idles and Moderat, disappointed with the lack of Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Not much of interest on the Saturday either.

Siouxsie, Slowthai, Belle and Sebastian and Jose Gonzalez all fantastic additions. Unfortunately Kalorama announcement does make this comparatively disappointing. Even just adding the YYY would make such a difference.

Anyway, just need to remind myself that the Strokes is the main draw and reason i'm going. Plenty there to justify the price of a ticket 🙂

    • I agree that we’ll never really know up until the concert happens (and even then we still may not know) but I think promoters are having to come up with new tactics to combat ‘blue dot fever’ (already hating that phrase!) and trying to imply that concerts are selling better than they actually are / available tickets are in short supply is definitely one of them.    To add though, it is quite common at the O2 Arena for the rear blocks to not go on sale (and then remain closed for the concert and covered over to hide the empty seats). And equally common for standing to sell out first, then side/lower tier seating next and rear/upper tier seating last.    Jungle’s two concerts at the O2 are a good comparison for this - for their 1st (announced) date, all blocks are on sale and seats in all sections remain unsold, whereas for their 2nd date, the rear blocks are greyed out (more so than for Muse) and equally lots of seats remain unsold in the blue blocks. Standing for both concerts are showing as sold out.
    • MGK can and should headline. I was at one of his shows earlier in the year as a very casual fan, and there were a lot of alt people there. The show was actually class and he completely won me over. Anyone who opposes him headlining is just a gatekeeper imo, we need to move with the times.
    • Ultimately Glasto is just part of the festival circuit, however special we may think it is. The vast majority of its headliners have done many others
    • From Magyar’s FB:   ”Our country's energy and water supply is stable. As of today, voluntary consumption reduction is no longer necessary. The turbine at the Paks power plant is generating stably. Thanks to precipitation in Austria, the water level of the Danube will temporarily rise by 20–30 centimeters. Thank you, Hungary, for the unprecedented national unity shown in recent days! We have much to be proud of, and much to carry forward into the period ahead.”
    • I hope it stays under £400.  A lot of us aren't flush with cash.  Charities are great but do they need £1 mil (I jest)
