Right, another crack at this then. Previously had The City as my opener on a last guess in this thread, but reckon they bin it and TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME off in favour of People and I Always Wanna Die (Sometimes). (Two changes not for me personally, but just guessing off general knowledge.)

If you're looking for a taster set to try and get into them, then have a go at the following, in this order:

Chocolate

Love Me

Give Yourself a Try

Me & You Together Song

Looking for Somebody (To Love)

Heart Out

A Change of Heart

I Like America and America Likes Me (Real World Version)

If You're Too Shy (Let Me Know)

I'm In Love With You

Robbers

Somebody Else

About You

Love It If We Made It

Sex

Happiness

It's Not Living (If It's Not With You)

The Sound

If that's too long, then go for Love MeGive Yourself a TryRobbersSomebody ElseLove It If We Made It and It's Not Living (If It's Not With You).

If you're wanting a festival setlist idea, then try their R+L '22 setlist here - think it will functionally be very similar to what they might play at Glastonbury.

Appreciate the input, had a listen in that order last night and this morning. Can understand why they’re headlining and the tunes will go across well on the Pyramid, along with their live reputation, but overall the tunes aren’t really for me.

More then fair enough! Cheers for giving it a try.

Dunno why but my gut is telling me this is just too "safe". At the very least I can't see "Me & You Together" making the cut as it wasn't even a regular in the SATVB tour. They played "Couldn't Be More in Love" first time headlining R+L, which they had been playing on the ABIIOR tour, but was still very much an album track you'd maybe have expected to be cut at a big festival headline slot (especially their first time headlining at R+L). So I reckon there will be at least 1-2 unexpected picks in the mix.

Also totally think they'll open with Too Shy, and so they f**king should, it's an elite-tier opener.

No "Paris" my personal favourite.

Would be disappointed if they didn't play it

Paris is a weird one. Was on the R+L '22 sets but get the impression they tend to swap it in and out with A Change of Heart.

Love Me has also broadly been absent over the last few years despite being one of the quote-unquote bigger hits here. It's perfect for a festival, but I could well see a case that it doesn't feature as well.

There's only about eight songs that are absolute dead certs, then another six that would be surprise omissions. The rest of the set could go any which way.

On another note, The 1975 have updated their socials with a new logo font for the band name, which effectively heralds the arrival of album number six.

So I think it's safe to assume there will be a single, at the very least, in that set - possibly even dropped in the immediate run-up, a la Arctic Monkeys and Do I Wanna Know? in 2013.

I think of all the recent headliners (Elton aside), '75 are clear favourites to do a complete shake-up of the setlist and throw in a ton of curveballs.

They've been on record as this being the gig they've aimed for their whole career, can't see them just rocking up with the usual greatest hits. Might even get Antichrist (we won't)!

Possibly, but at the same time, it's the biggest gig of your career, to possibly the biggest crowd of your career. The hits will be the bedrock.

There might be a few curveballs. It certainly will be a tailored show to the moment.

But pausing for a back-to-back combo of Medicine and Me, as great as they are, is liable to put half of the field to sleep.

Guest appearances anyone?   Lewis Capaldi maybe?

Unlikely his first show back after a break due to anxiety would be a free appearance on the biggest stage out there i think!

Bit of a long shot, though he has done it before.

If there is anybody, it will be Tim Healy for All I Need to Hear - unlikely as it is a bit of a niche mood-slower - or possibly Charli XCX pulling double duty. More likely George rocks up during her set the following night though.

The absolute banter cameo, of course, is Taylor Swift to duet on Fortnight.

Every act on the poster are touring at present. The only one not touring are The 1975. Definitely makes it more special & may do a warm up gig.

I was wondering if this was the first time this situation has happened?

No, Kendrick Lamar basically did it as a one-off a few years back. His only other show before hand was a festival in Milan. Those two were the only dates.

    • Another note, if I didn't mention the food in the arena for main stage is right at the back. Bands wise they do very well for but as a festival so far they pros are outweighed quite heavily currently for me.
    • On another note for RIP as an event, there is some good things but there are so many things people going to UK festivals would hate and how far behind they are.  Consistent network and water, beer and pretzel like food is brought around to buy in the crowds. Topping up on the wristband is good. The camping and food arrangement is not good, you really need cooking kit. Water points inside the arena are bonkers, water points in camping are a faff unless you are close enough in general camp. Merch stands are crazy. You MASSIVELY need to think about your lidl shop for camping and try and do it so you've one stop. It's definitely worth it getting to a camping shop here, picking up a rolley between your mates and stacking it for the walk back....lidl is cheap though, not hard getting in but Thursday queues getting in and into the camping is mad. You have to register first for a wristband as well leaving any bigger bags behind so pull to a side if only two and do it separately. I was joining a WhatsApp group for solo camp so went with the flow but I've learnt. Had it been me or just two my tent would have been down much quicker.  Big final note, I got a fresh and black 3 man from decathlon before coming and put in bigger suitcase with my airbed and sleeping bag...do this. Take a smaller option for your clothes. If you go to Munich first, book your train to Nuremberg as far in advance as you can....very important!....it hikes crazy. Probably bettee overall for baggage sizes to do BA both ways but you do then need to go back to Munich after too. Use the B&B hotel hbf the night before....its very nice, comfortable, cheap and within 10 minutes of the station which also serves as a transport stop 15 minutes from the registration.  Get up literally like 5am with everything back the night before, shower and go. Transport is free anyway for festival ticket holders during the duration.  Would I just choose to travel in each day and back to a hotel?, on the basis of sleep and getting accommodation cheap enough for 3 nights i might just do especially if I picked the ticket up early enough. It doesn't feel like a festival in a normal sense....unless you are in general yoi have to exit on the paths outside the camping to walk down and in which also applies for getting water so have a stock up. Toilets are in the camping.
