I was down the right hand side of the stage. Could have bought you one of the many beers I owe you if I’d known you were there!

They we’re very good. And completely agree it was odd so many left straight afterwards.

cool 😄 were you near Big Jeff ? saw him chatting to everyone 🙂

Theres no way they'll play, Geoff is too busy with Beak.

Tonights (admittedly small) set was magical though 🙂 I was way up at the back though, so couldn't see much. I was however surprised that so many people left afterwards and didn't stay for IDLES who fucking rocked.

Sadly the majority were there for Portishead. I think they knew they'd be able to maximise money raised by putting themselves on the bill.  I'm pretty sure MA would have been on board like the Tsunami gig if it wasn't for illness.

Enjoyed the whole evening thou, they've still got it.

Given that they played the same set for six years, with the majority of those gigs post-2011 being big-buck festival gigs, they do strike me as a band who are quite motivated by money, or at least the money that touring generated. There is a distinct lack of rereleases and special or expanded editions of the albums, so who knows what's going on with the record company side of things.

In terms of the future, last I had heard was that Geoff and Adrian were in a studio going over old tapes for some sort of project in 2019, and Beth couldn't give two fucks about it. As pointed out above, hopefully this has a similar spark to the tsunami gig and they get back in the studio together, even if that does mean less Beak output.

2013 was my all time favourite gig, and I've been lucky enough to see them two other times as well. Hopefully I can make it four in the future.

I was going to share the youtube link but it now says no longer available.

Yeah I tried on the one that you sent me, but not working. I'll keep my eyes posted on the bootleg servers.

If it was 2019 presumably it was related to this?
