It would be strangest and unpredictable election in history I think.  I don't think the polling would be useful.

Boris is still hugely popular with enough of the country to make Keir feel uncomfortable.  He would defo rather take on anyone else.

don't think boris is scared of an election, just all the other tory mps:from question time last night, reckon this is a good time to lay into labour to undermine their vote. altho giving the libdems a free hand might hurt tories more.

a large amount of his time in office was during the pandemic. He did increase NHS/social care funding, COP26 was sort of successful in getting some agreements, and the UK did do well with the vaccines. Don't get me wrong I don't think he is equipped for the job really, I mean he can't be bothered to go to parliament because he's in the caribbean for a start...but in terms of where he is ideologically I think I definitely prefer him to Truss, and maybe to some of the other candidates.

But...in my heart, I would rather Sunak or Mordaunt over Johnson.

I think Hunt may stay as chancellor to calm the markets. Highest interest payments in history this month at £7.7bn, deficit at £20bn, £5bn more than expected. Pound on the way back down.

Polling isnt 100%, but 25-30 points labour lead is fairly strong indication what would happen

Its not breaking the ministerial code: its breaking parliament's rules, so it would be up to parliament by way of a vote.

 

He could force the MP's to vote against him being suspended, but that would come at a big political cost
