Comedy open mics at Glasto?

First timer this year and excited isn’t the word. I’ve been doing standup the past year and whilst it isn’t my intention to turn the weekend into a spot hunting trip as that would be an awful waste It’s definitely rolling around my mind how awesome it would be to just get on a mic for 5-10 minutes somewhere over the festival. Do any of the bars / stages do open mic spots / also be open to a bit of comedy?

I would imagine the caberet tent would have open mic. They have comedy on in the evenings for sure

No - it's not open Mic.

The Bread & Roses has comedy on bit even then it's relatively well kent names like Abandoman.

I have not seen any open mic there for many years.

 

I wonder if you had a word with the stage managers you could maybe get something inbetween acts, somewhere like Mavericks or Avalon Cafe

Probably the best approach in the smaller venues.

I've not been in years, but my understanding is that Mavericks is hosted like cabaret club, so even then there's people like Miss Behave acting as MCs.

Yea very true. Worth a punt though and I bet some wouldn't mind an extra 10 mins out the back for a fag

Isnt there an open mic place in the very early hours in shangri la area?

The only Open Mic slots listed on the 2019 line up were Acoustic Open Mic on the Croissant Neuf Bandstand and Open Mic at Poetry and Words. Could your stand up be presented as funny poetry?
