Alcohol Transport on coach

What are everyone's tips for taking alcohol if going on National Express? Stick with spirits and wine boxes or is it doable to take cans as well?

I took loads of cans on mine. Just obviously don’t bring more than you can carry in a big back pack. If you take them out of any crates you buy them in you’ll fit a surprising amount in your bags scattered about

Are they not strict about the 20kg max per bag?

It's more about the size rather than weight.

Boxed or unboxed? I'd be worried about having a bag of cider splitting and soaking my clothes if it was unboxed and in my bag.

It's fine unboxed. I stick it on the top of my bag to reduce the pressure on it, never has any explosions. I always make sure it's unopened to be safe though.

Do whatever you want.

crates underneath with spirits in carry on so they don’t get smashed is my tip.

Never had a driver kick off about drinking on way either. Best way to travel imho.

Usually a supermarket at the services too so you can grab some cold cans half way down. The services are always a good place to talk bollocks to fellow early drinkers too. Add Greggs in and it’s a wonderful occasion.
