Oxfam Priority now open

Oxfam priority applications are now open as a reminder to all you have this status. General applications will be open in a couple of weeks time on 28th March.

I think they have around 2100 places to fill. Less 2 for me and my daughter who have just applied.

SEE YOU ALL IN JUNE WOO HOO

What are the odds like for someone signing up in the general window? Is it just first come first served? Does the site usually crash?

Its first come first served , but you have to be on the ball as places go almost instanly

and no the site seems to handle it well

If you haven't pre registered, do it now so you can fill out most of the form and save time

when the apps open

Hope you get lucky :)

and I have just signed up for Glasto and Bearded theory

About a quarter of the available places are taken for Glastonbury. I reckon the biggest flurry of applications was yesterday on the opening day of the priority window so expect to be around half left on the general application day.

No later than Tuesday afternoon. You can arrive earlier though. Briefings take place Tuesday early evening from what I recall. Then it's out to explore the site and usually the Avalon and crew bars open and watch Hattie Hatstar and get excited. There is the added bonus of no queues driving in, especially given the nightmare of last year.

Does anyone know what kind of information you need to sign up? I'm I a meeting when it goes live but can leave my details with someone else to try if I know what details I need to leave them.... I've already done the preregistration thing

I haven't done it before (hopefully this'll be my first year) but looking at the site they'll need your logon details, debit card, travel plans and details of any shift partners

Bear in mind for first timers that Oxfam will also expect you to attend a 3 hour training session somewhere near you in the UK.

https://www.oxfam.org.uk/stewarding/faqs/training

First timers also have to nominate a referee for their application who will be contacted and asked to provide a character reference.

If you have an approved photo on the Glasto tix reg site, I would use that too for completing the form as they will need one for your steward lanyard.

  • 2 weeks later...

Just to remind everybody who is interested that the general application opens today from 10am onwards. Will be really busy but good luck. I know there are plenty of places still available for Glastonbury but they will go quickly. If it is full try stewarding one of their other festivals - it is great fun and raises lots of money.

    • Same here, when the lineup dropped it looked very strong but this year I’m considering more whether I buy tickets for enjoyment or fomo.   Speaking of that dilemma, I caved and bought a Turnstile Piece Hall ticket so I’ll see you there 😂
