Faithless (Dj set)

Gold panda
Slaves (live set not just DJ)
Delta heavy

I like the idea of all of those! A couple more I think could make the bill is professor green and the 1975 maybe two door cinema club or gaslight anthem

Gaslight anthem are on hiatus I believe but wouldn't be surprised to see Brian fallon there in some way! Wishful thinking but I'd love to see Johnny marr pop up, same with alvvays

People will always have aslight moan about prices as they are only there to see a few acts, but the great thing with festivals is that you explore and hear and see bands you've never heard of that become your faves, it's all about the adventure.

I've noticed RDB tweeting about Divine Comedy a couple of times this week - maybe they will appear on the line up?? Also would love to see London Grammar on there... they are doing the rounds...

Yeah I can see London Grammar headlining the 2nd stage at the same time as PSB or ATCQ.

The 2nd stage headliner doesn't start until after the main stage has finished.

Aren't they making the second stage/ tent smaller for this years fest. I wouldnt expect the format to be staying exactly the same if that is the case. There were already dangerously busy levels for some of those tent headliners in previous years - Crystal fighters and Katy B last year was rammed (don't know if they were 'headliners' though).

I would expect more of the traditional headliners up against one another if they have downsized the tent.

I read somewhere on Facebook ((I think)) that the format for the box will be the same as the big top stage and be closing late with late headliners

London Grammar were incredible as the sun set on the main stage a few years back.

Seriously, what are Bestival spending their money on?

Looking at recent festival announcements, Bestival is surely one of the worst line ups on the circuit.

And don't get me wrong, headliners aren't everything. But overall line up is.

Id bet they won't sell 20,000 tix

Just bought tickets for this tiny festival in Stockport £55 for the whole weekend...

Probably best you just move on now, you got some money back from last year, best off concentrating on another festival you are going to enjoy rather than dwelling on the past.

Any lineup with Crazy P on it is winning this year. I couldnt recommend them highly enough for when you go if you like a dance. Hoping they will be at whatever festival I end up going to.

  • 2 weeks later...

I went to see the xx in Cardiff last night on the last leg of their European tour and they were incredible. Sounded great, well thought out setlist and amazing stage set up and light show. Will be interesting to see what they bring to Bestival but we should be in for a treat!

Any ideas on the next line up announcement? It's all gone a bit quiet

    • Muse new album out soon , European tour announcement for Nov and Dec, no Spanish date and north American tour starts in July and in North America for all of July and August. So primavera and Glastonbury
    • Well he is on a rape charge, don't see that one as controversial.    Although Hakimi is in Morocco squad.
    • Electric Callboy just said they'll be touring here next year. I'm not sure there's a poster for it though. I'll look when I'm near some next.      He said we'll see you at Download at a gig before any of the band. Presumably he was trolling. They're in Austria at the moment and Germany tomorrow with a week's break and more shows in Germany. Whilst not impossible to come back here and then go over there again, it seems unlikely.
    • Thomas Partey, knocked back by Canadian immigration now.
    • I'm sure someone can update you on the clashfinder, and it will be pretty accurate by the time the festival comes around. It's a large flat-ish arena with main stage in the open air, no best side I'd say. Leadmill (3rd stage medium tent) is at the back of the main arena, T'Other (2nd stage big tent) 5 min walk round the corner. At full capacity walking around can take a bit more time though. I noticed that The Enemy are scheduled to not fully overlap with Wolf Alice, so you could catch part of their set too.   You can walk around anywhere with a beer, with most bars the usual mass market stuff, but one nice craft ale tent, back of the arena near the Leadmill stage. A main meal will set you back £10-15, but cheaper snacks also available. Expect a pint to be £7-8. Possibly a bit more this year as prices everywhere are increasing.   It's fairly easy to get to from the town centre using the tram, although can be busy at peak times / very busy at curfew. If you like a walk, it's approx 40 mins to Kelham Island (lots of indy venues) and probably an hour to the city, or catch an Uber. There will be loads of 'fringe' music events on around the city right through the weekend. Most are free. Have a wonderful trip, enjoy the festival, and your stay in our city!
