Without sounding like a dick what help do you really need if you have a group of 6 already ? :P

Obviously i understand small groups joining together to make full groups and having the mutual benefit of increasing each others chances, but just because i have a full group does that mean i don't 'qualify' for help should someone have a spare page open? I'm not feeling confident after trying for friends on Thursday and not even getting a sniff  :-(

I'd love to help others on here but I've got to at least attempt to get through three times for different groups of people so couldn't offer it in return, I've got 6+1, then 5 for somebody at work if I get through again to get the +1 then there's a reserve list of friends for everybody else in group one if we get through a third time. Not confident about getting in once let alone three times. I'm basing this on everybody in my first group typically being absolutely useless over the past few years, but you never know they may surprise me this year! Respect to those helping each other on here though.

Technical question - I have a group of 4 and am helping another 2.

But, those other 2 are also trying as part of another group.

So, my question is:
If I get through, bung in all 6, but 2 in the group already have tickets - will I be bounced out completely and told those 2 are no good - so have to delete and go back in?

If that's the case, then I might be tempted to put our 4 in, then go back to put in the other 2 - rather than mess it up. Obviously, this also applies to the other group trying for these 2 as well.

Your thoughts very much appreciated.

I don't recall there being any instances of people being ripped off. We're all too nice to do that here.

I do, well it was people selling tickets that didn't exist to smaller festivals but I remember a private message from some user offering tickets shortly followed by a message from Neil saying it was a known scammer & to steer clear

its good advice not to send your bank details to anyone you don't know and trust

Any US based people want to join forces? Im trying for Glasto and have to use my US credit card whereas my friends are in the UK so I can't do it for their reg numbers. So i can do upto 5 others if I get the luck of the Irish (finally!) and get through.

Let me know please. I will be getting up at 3:30 am to be ready for the madness tomorrow!!! :)

I thought it was the lead bookers card that had to match country wise. That's how it worked for us in 2015.

A friend in Spain got through and was the lead booker so paid for all 6 deposits on their Spanish Credit card, we sent them the cash via PayPal and come April we paid the balance using a UK Debit card.

While it might be good advice, at least 30 people wouldn't have attended the festival if they hadn't trusted me with their bank details over the years.  As long as the person has been a member here for a while and is a regular poster, I think the risk is negligible.

I remember last time trying for use and it failed because it said their UK Reg ticket cannot be booked using a credit card whereas mine HAD to be using a credit card. I still, with time being critical, don't want to run into that crap again so we're trying seperately, just to be sure to be sure :)

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
