Henrik
Good lord! The weather forecasts are looking good - really good!! Time to get excited; it's going to be perfect
mjsell
I fear the weather gods wont take kindly to your blatant optimism.... And the Bestival gods wont take kindly to your spelling. At this stage it does look fucking excellent though
Henrik
Oh is this the Bestival forum?? My bad. I was looking for the Betsival one. I hope you guys have some nice weather too
The60ftOctopus
It is looking pretty good. Some weather sites predicting no rain at all, others only 2mm rain forecast over the whole weekend.
Lucy92
I've been doing my sun dance. My feathered fancy dress will look so sad in the rain!

Still looking dry but not quite the wall to wall sunshine prediction of last week. A bit of cloud isnt a bad thing imo though - especially in the mornings
Henrik
Cloud is no problem at all as far as I'm concerned. It's that wet stuff that can fall from them I don't like.

rseamer
I was on the Island yesterday and there had been rain all night (not heavy) so the grass was wet but dried out rapidly during the day. With not much / maybe no rain forecast for the next few days it looks like the site should be perfectly green. We just need to keep an eye on the currently predicted showers on Saturday - but I could live with a few showers over heavy rain and mud! LottieRB
Thursday is looking pitch perfect (har-di-har-har) - Sat has me a little shaky but on the Island it can all change in the blink of an eye - the other week it was predicted as high winds and showers and it turned out to be too hot to do anything but bomb into the sea (never a problem). Keeping an open mind, but also keeping my welly boots <
Henrik
Yep...we have our own little micro climate down here on the island Seriously though, we have to be happy with the forecast. Thursday looking glorious for setting up camp - then just a bit of rain on Saturday...maybe. It's all good.
mjsell
haha, everytime I read 'the Island' I think I'm about to go on a Bear Grylls show not to a festival. I'll happily except one rain shower over the course of 5 days. Keeps the dust down.
LottieRB
All in all looks the best of both worlds to me - I'd rather have some cloud and never mind a little rain - cool down from all that get down

Yeah, its steadily getting worse. showers are moving through slower than first thought by the looks of things. would be annoying if it takes out the afternoon. Henrik
Yeah, still hoping those showers will be gone by the afternoon. At least it's looking like that Saturday rain is the only rain we have to do battle with over the whole weekend.
gibble
Fingers crossed. I've only been to Bestival once before and it didn't rain - does it take much to turn the grounds to mud? I'm basically asking if the Sat forecast means I should be taking wellies!

I've never been when it has properly chucked it down for an extended period of time - but I'm not taking wellies. Walking shoes/boots can cope with most things. No, rain from a light shower will dry out really quickly. It got torrential on the Sunday night last year, but even then the mud was totally manageable. gibble
Great - cheers people. I've done many a muddy Glastonbury so I can cope - just wanted to know what to expect!
rseamer
2008 was the really bad mud year - but it rained a months worth of rain in one night on the Thursday. It was horrendous - as bad as a bad Glasto. However there's no forecast of rain of that proportion so as long as the forecast is correct it shouldn't be an issue.
