Anker 20100 problems

Bought an Anker 20100 battery pack..  It's seems to take forever to charge a phone.  Longer than a normal wall charger.  The anker astro e5 5000 I have chargers a phone much quicker..  Don't get it?  Both have iq charger technology apparently..  Anyone else having slow charging issues?

I've got the same... I've not noticed it taking an especially long time tbh.

I can't answer but have an E5 also, have you tried changing the USB cable or failing that Anker customer service are quick and excellent, get onto them. I had a problem with my car charger, I just gave them the serial number and they sent a replacement straight away - it may be a bad batch???

Why don't you download an app that tells you how much charge is going into it? (they exist but can't think of one off the top of my head)

You should be getting 4.8a

Is it not 2.4a? Looking at the Anker technical details 4.8 is the combined amps:

  • Fast Charging Technology: PowerIQ and VoltageBoost combine to deliver the fastest possible charge up to 2.4 amps per port or 4.8 amps overall.

I guess it is then.. either way checking it might be a good idea.

Problems with Anker?! Theres a surprise. Took three replacements from them before my wireless keyboard worked.

Cheap nasty stuff that occasionally works. Pay for what you get etc.

I own two different models of Anker portable chargers, and one is 3 years old the other 2 years old. Still going strong. They also generally get great reviews on Amazon too so I would not describe them as cheap and nasty.

Sorry for probably dumb question..... (technophobe)

So you charge one of these things up then you can use it to charge your phone up? How many times will it charge say an Iphone up for?

Thanks.

7 apparently.

Depends on the charger, and which version of iPhone you have. The #1 best seller Anker on amazon says 7 times for iphone 6. that is currently £27 : http://amzn.to/1UL8833

The Aukey looks good specs at £18: http://amzn.to/1UL8k2o but not used this brand.

There is a RAVpower that claims to do 10 times but is £35. here: http://amzn.to/1UL8Flw and Anker also do one with similar capacity at £36 : http://amzn.to/1UL8lDn (This is the one I have, and with it having so much charge, I even let my friends top up their phones under strict rationing!) but 10 times  may be overkill if you are not sharing!

Just leave the unit charging for a day before you set off, and you will be good to go!

Cheers. Not usually fussed about it but need contact with the sprogs 24/7 this year (they are at home). Will get one, or maybe a cheapo Nokia.

you cant go wrong with a Nokia! It's refreshing to be without internet for 5 days too.

I had the same experience with their customer service dept.  My powerbank would only change from my pc and just blinked at me when I plugged it into the wall.  They sent a replacement with great speed when I gave them the serial no.

After a debacle last year I've figured out that three (the network) sim cards don't work in phones without 3g capabilities. I assumed an old nokia would work last year and was sorely mistaken. Fortunately the Mrs' mum was on EE so i had a powerbank daily, (only 30% of a charge per day though). So i've invested in the 20100 this year. On the test run atm and I'm getting a little less than I expected from it. I've emailed Anker though so hopefully they can tell me if it's expected for my phone as it's a sony xperia z2 and tbh the battery lasts a lot longer on that than an iphone so perhaps it uses more power.
