Best bag for carrying stuff around

I'm in the cheap drawstring camp. No need for all this posh rubbish. The ones at Sports Direct are £1 each so just got five and will put some booze and a firm plastic glass in when I head out, once all the drink is consumed I will throw it all in the bin and will be bag free.

The Healthy Back Bag company do some stonking bags.

Some are a tad pricey but they last forever, are very secure (internal zipped compartments etc) and don't give you back ache :)

This, absolutely.  Plus, if you give them your email address then you get a crack at what's on in their weekly sales.  Picked up a medium sized one for £25 and it is fantastically good - lots of internal pockety things and a big clip for keys, etc.  Also, it didn't make my back or shoulders ache.  Love it!

Think I've got it down to one of these two:

http://www.cotswoldoutdoor.com/fjallraven-kanken-rucksack-e1412252?id_colour=1033 - I *think* these are waterproof, or damn near it.

http://www.nomadtravel.co.uk/p/11253/Sahara-Raider-II-Bag- not waterproof, but love the design - its a shoulder bag AND a rucksack, very lightweight, and when you lift the flap there's some little external pockets, then a large zip to get into the main part of the bag. I took one travelling with me and it was excellent, very resistant to pickpockets I would say.

I've got a Fjallraven Kanken (except mine's bright yellow, for reasons I can only explain as 'drunk shopping'). Beautifully waterproof. Comfy to carry. Holds loads and yet somehow really small. I love it - worth every penny.

Tried to buy one in Cotswold Outdoor, and the sales guy described it as the "hipster bag". They didn't have any. Was instead directed to Shoreditch, as "that's where all the hipster shops are". Dick.

Ah. You can get them online. I got mine from here with a new customer discount http://www.ilovemykanken.com/ (and there's free delivery as well I think)

These are great if you want something that can go on your back, but when the contents are emptied you can fold it up and shove into your coat pocket or another bag.

Doesn't fold up that small - you'd need maaaasssiiiivvve pockets to fit it in - c. 20cm square and 5cm thick when folded.

It does fit in my coat pocket, you can squash it a bit too.

I think it's something I found on here last year, where I'd wanted a folding rucksack (also got a folding anorak too) as I was coming by coach and am a lazy old git so didn't want to carry too much.

I love my Kanken too - completely agree with everything you've said about it here! Despite having thin straps it's really comfy to wear and somehow is way bigger inside than it seems. Also comes with a sitting mat which I'm sure will be useful at Glastonbury!

    • World Cup 2026: What is happening with ticket prices? - BBC Sport   Sounds like Infantino has been learning from his buddy if he's running around claiming its all sold out while quietly dumping tickets below face on assorted secondary websites.
    • Mac DeMarco also cancelled
    • I'm British so it very much would apply for me.   I mean, it's a moot point as I don't have tickets so will not be in town for this, but I've heard reports of lengthy queues and given I remember Lisbon Airport having a long queue at arrivals even pre-EES when I went in 2023, I seem to guess it might be quite the wait, depending on flight paths.   Certainly, the worst I've had pre-EES was a 45 minute wait for a stamp at Valencia Airport in Spain, where 4 flights to non-EU destinations in quick succession were placed one after the other. So I can't say I'm enthusiastic about what's in store. Or you know. Maybe I'm just overthinking it.
    • Out of interest keep seeing messages saying last 12 hours etc… to buy you full weekend tickets.  Whats that about? Do they take them off sale early?
