Gluten-free Glastonbury?

Hi all,

I consider myself a Glastonbury veteran (13, 14, 15!), but in the summer of last year I suddenly became very sick and was diagnosed with Coeliac disease. I can no longer eat products containing gluten, a protein found in wheat, barley or rye.

Is gluten-free eating possible at Glastonbury? Part of the spectacle is finding new (and also thrifty) culinary items to explore, and I'd be annoyed if I had to miss out. I had only £50 to spend for the whole week in 2013 so made good use of the amazing free grub at Hari Krishna's.

There may already be a thread on this but I am completely clueless as to how to live like this, and it will be my first festival experience post-diagnosis!

Thanks.

Hey there mate.

Wife (12th Glastonbury this year) is also coeliac. Marked improvement in recent years. In 2004 it was baked spuds for a week.

Here's last years thread with some added info.

Thanks for sharing. This is so helpful.
