Was not a fan of the Hac as it was shit when I went, I was a Maximes kid. . To be fair I only used SOR and K Klass as examples. There were loads who could have gone on to bigger and better things (Sunscreem, 2 Bad Mice, Altern 8, SL2 and so on). Plus it gives me the opportunity to post this :-)

I am not slagging them off mate, just saying I am surprised they went on to huge mega stardom.

I will question the disco - pop - rave thing not sustaining though as it definitely has up here. Piano house is still pretty big and to this day the K Klass and SOR tunes still get a battering at old skool nights where as Faithless stuff is very rarely heard.

Can I add that I do actually like Faithless? :-)

I've heard Insomnia at 5th avenue and 42s in the last week alone. They get played a lot more in the generic clubs than they would in actual dance clubs, especially in Manchester which is the 2nd edgiest place in the country behind Leeds. Only underground tunes allowed in edgy dance places

Blast from the past them 2 clubs. Not been in either for the best part of 20 years.

Insomnia is a tune and I used to play it a lot myself. It is just gathering dust now (to be fair so is the rest of my vinyl)

    • Tell me more. Last Latitude we went to was '21 - my son was young & had a wagon so we snuck good beers in that way. I remember there being some Brooklyn IPA on sale which was tolerable - are you saying they don't sell anything other than Carlsberg now?! 😳
    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
