Also I've sat through this 2 years in a row and each time people are saying "it's definitely going to be on _____" and most of the time they were wrong. I honestly don't think info like that can be useful

Yes, everyone's right; I'm on the 5:2 diet.

Lost 2 stone this year and I'm pretty much at my ideal weight now. I won't stop the diet though as it's easy peasey and has loads of other non-weight related benefits.
I won't evangelize, but if you're interested search out the BBC Horizon doc about fasting from a few years ago - it's still on iPlayer.
