What's the best non Glastonbury festival you've been to? I'm thinking of volunteering at a different festival this summer - any suggestions of ones to go for?

Toss up between Benicassism or Primavera

So I've taken to using my time between hours, to buy a tent, sleeping bag, poncho, light and now I'm eyeing up a welly boot remover.

I'll be camping somewhere in June, that's for sure.

My boyfriend and I have said we're going to go camping for the weekend if we don't get tickets. No access to hearing or seeing the festival either, just a good old camping trip with plenty of beers (to drown our sorrows) and good company!

I've always had a soft spot for Electric Picnic in Ireland. Lots of mad drunk Irish people and some great little stages outside the main arena.

Nothing has ever happened on a Thursday..... but as we've established...there is no pattern!

Fingers crossed the web man at See is a Sunderland fan who's in a very good mood this morning and presses the red button.....

Positive vibes!

Is Benicassim that good? I thought it was fairly "Brit abroad" vibe now!!

Last time I went was the last Glasto fallow year in 2012, this was the lineup;

benicassim-2012-lineup-poster.jpg

Was absolutely ridiculous. Watching Bob Dylan with a spliff and a mojito as the sun went down was a proper once-in-a-lifetime vibe.

(Florence cancelled, so De La Soul got bumped to the main stage)

Not really, I'm a bit like you a like discovering new stuff but I like a bit of ragga/reggae so Damien Marley and Taurus Riley should be good. Comes to think of it I may try go to both festivals.. IF I can get tickets :D

Have you listened to Natty ?

Beat-Herder... it's where all my Glasto mates go in July and they've been nagging me to go for years as it's such a similar vibe, apparently. Some say (quietly) it's better than Glasto. I find that hard to believe but am going for the first time this year... worth a look at the pics/vids here: http://beatherder.co.uk/

I like the sound of Kendal Calling http://www.kendalcalling.co.uk/, it's where we would of gone had we not gotten tickets for Glasto

    • She pulled in 50k people at Lollapalooza, she's definitely Addison Rae level in terms of popularity.
    • When it comes to legacy alternative acts I hope they bring the Afghan Whigs. Those newly released songs are incredible and classic Whigs sound
    • We’ve a friend  who has hens and sells eggs for two quid for six. So much tastier than supermarket ones. She has an honesty box outside her house and has now expanded into selling them to hotels and the local butchers shop. Quite a decent wee business
    • Curiously a rumour has turned up that Barcelona are now interested in Rodri. So could make Real Madrid and Man City are suddenly both in need of a central midfielder.    ... Assuming this move to Arsenal for Bruno Guimaraes ends up being processed before those two may need to enter the conversation.
    • I think Thunderbolts probably had one of the more interesting villains for an MCU movie. I was actually a bit creeped out by Void. I'm a massive horror movie fan, and I can't think of another time in the last couple of years where a character legit scared me like he did.    Brand New Day was a good time. A great villain choice as it played into Parker's insecurities. Castle was a strange inclusion but the dynamic between him and Parker was great. Castle must have been delighted to have someone who never seen themselves as superior to him like Murdoch pretty much always did.
