I'd rather see her do a smaller stage, tbh. I think it's a show you need to be relatively close to. I wouldn't want to be looking up at her on the Other, it's high up, that always feels odd to me watching bands play that stage in the daytime that feel like they should be closer to you. Even if your not far from the stage, the height gives it this feeling of being far away.

I'd always rather be up close, but I don't think St Vincent's show is one that particularly requires it. The scale and theatrics of it make me feel the opposite way, that it doesn't necessarily need to be so intimate.

not really much point in her coming back is there? usually repeat acts who appear at the festival two years on the run on the same album cycle are local(ish) acts who live down the road from the fest. having big American acts come back to play the same set on a slightly bigger stage doesn't make much sense (although i'm sure there are a few instances... and yeah, St. Vincent on Other wouldn't seem right at all)

No idea whether she will or not, but returning on a bigger stage with greater exposure after a massive year for her seems like a good a reason as any to play.

I saw her on the MTV awards show, I should have hated her but somehow thoroughly enjoyed everything about it.

Carefull unless you have Prince A resources fighting your corner

i meant more in terms of the festival wanting to book her rather than her wanting to do it. i doubt they'd turn her away if she requested to play but i doubt they'll be desperate to have her back to do the exact same thing she did the previous year, only bigger

Charli XCX is the first step to Taylor Swift, Russy. Beware.

Not true I've been in love with her for a couple of years now and I have yet to move onto Ms. Swift.

The problem with Charlie XCX live is that she is fucking awful. I like her on record... but I have had to suffer her live twice. Maybe it was just because she was in a support slot, but other friends have seen her at festivals too. You have been warned!

I thought she was as good as any other poppy type act when played Sonic last year. Was fairly fun until we had to wait for her to do a song live on Radio 1.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
