Afternoon. I have the Boomtown Rats song I don't like Mondays going around my head.

Frosty morning and very bbbbrrrr then got pulled over by the police and given a rather hefty fine for no tax or NCT (MOT in the UK).

I really really can't wait to get to Worthy Farm and shrug of the mundanity of life!

Boomtown Rats are one of the best bands to come out of our country!

Bloody Garda, they're there when you don't need 'em and not there when you do!

Afternoon all. It's bloody glorious outside, which is where I am, sat in my garden. I love early shifts.

What is this 5HTP stuff Pentura?

It's a serotonin replacement drug, so when you take "recreationals", you can use 5-HTP to boost your serotonin and stop you feeling sad the next day. Magic!

Its a bit like taking a vitamin. Sort of.

Seen it on the 'Hangovers' thread, seems like it's some supplement to take to prevent hangover. According to posters over there it increases serotonin aka the chemical in your brain that gives you the depression of a hangover.

I'm not sure if it works with the physical effects of a night on the booze though? Can anyone confirm / deny?

Thanx.

a) is it legal?

B) does it work?

I have bought diorylite for the morning after too much booze.

It's not really for if you've only had booze, I don't think. I dont think just booze depletes your natural serotonin, whereas other things do!

Ah, I figured it'd work the same seems how sometimes you want to crawl into a ball when you have a booze only hangover! Not just physically but mentally too if that makes sense!

To be fair, I was sat there for ages thinking they were calling a tow truck to impound me car cos he was on the radio and phone for about 10 minutes so at least they didn't take it off me. That would have been extra painful.

That is not what you want on a Monday! Glad you kept the car, awful about the fine

Having new broadband installed today.

Lots of getting things to work for me.

Plus had a call someone is going to view Yorkey (our motor hone) fingers and toes crossed they buy.

I am not stressed, well that's what I keep saying.

Oh good luck with Yorkey!

I agree with diorylite. One before bed with 2 paracetamol and a pint of water. Same again when I get up.

If I have a pint of water before bed then I get little sleep as I am up and down going wee all the time!

Damn my feeble bladder.

I had this issue last year. Drank way too much water the night before...*ahem*...and was up and down to the toilets every hour or so!

    • Maybe hopeful but get Knocked Loose on the Sunday opposite the legend. Similar to the slot Turnstile had in 2022. Would be absolutely phenomenal.
    • One of my personal favourite bands at the minute - MUNA. Was very surprised not to see them booked in 2023 with their last album but hopefully they'll be around next year. Very fun new album from these guys and, as aforementioned, another standout for me at Big Weekend.
    • Absolutely second this. Were great at Big Weekend and already have a great catalogue of songs forming so far. Would love to see them on the farm!
    • A mixed first day for us. First of all, we were honestly quite shocked that there was no security check at all at the VIP entrance around 7:30 PM. No bag check, nothing. I’ve attended Primavera many times over the years and this felt surprisingly lax for an event of this size. Did anyone else experience the same?   Another disappointment was the communication regarding the weather situation. Primavera has some of the best sound systems and speaker setups in the festival world, yet somehow they were not able to make a single clear announcement explaining what was happening. Instead, people were expected to read tiny messages on screens in Mordor while thousands were left wondering what was going on. A simple and direct audio announcement would have gone a long way.   On a lighter note, this guy absolutely made my day. Sitting right in front of the Estrella Damm terrace, wearing nothing but a long-sleeve shirt, jeans and a pair of Converse All Stars, he remained completely unbothered by the rain. While everyone else was looking for shelter, he sat there wearing sunglasses, calmly watching the crowd as if he was watching a movie.   Absolute main character energy!
    • I think my party got pretty lucky last night, at least compared to some of the horror stories over on Reddit. I was very impressed with Father John Misty in particular.   Perhaps my view would be different if I were a big Massive Attack fan or whatever, but right now my feeling is that if it's not safe for the shows to go ahead... then it's not safe for the shows to go ahead. I'd much rather they were cautious than roll the dice when it comes to something like that.    Here's hoping everyone has a better day today.
