Anyone want a mother in law?

Unfortunately I already have one, and that's one too many as it is. I have to make excuses not to be in the same room as mine, because I just can't stand her ( she is the only person to ever have affected me in this manner). It's not me, as my wife can't stand her own mother either - it's the same with the rest of her siblings in that they steer cleer of the mother too whenever possible. The woman not only abuses her right to be excruciatingly boring, but also has evil Machiavellian tendencies designed to split her off spring up from one another - while proclaiming to have Christian values. I could go on. But wont.

I avoid being anywhere near mine as well - and like you, really cannot stands her.

One of Ali's sisters has not spoken to her (mother) for several years.

Yours sounds remarkably similar to mine.

Three dogs were sitting in the waiting room at the vet's when they struck up a conversation. The Yellow Labrador turned to the Black Labrador and said, " So why are you here? "

The Black Lab replied, "I'm a pisser. I piss on everything....the sofa, the curtains, the cat, the kids. But the final straw was last night when I pissed in the middle of my owner's bed." The Yellow Lab said, " So what's the vet going to do?" "Gonna cut my nuts off " came the reply from the Black Lab. "They reckon it'll calm me down."

The Black Lab then turned to the Yellow Lab and asked "Why are you here " The Yellow Lab said, "I'm a digger. I dig under fences, dig up flowers and trees, I dig just for the hell of it. When I'm inside, I dig up the carpets. But I went over the line last night when I dug a great big hole in my owners' couch." "So what are they going to do to you? " the Black Lab inquired. "Looks like I'm losing my nuts too," the dejected Yellow Lab said.

The Black Lab then turned to the Great Dane and asked, "Why are you here?" "I'm a humper," said the Great Dane. "I'll hump anything. I'll hump the cat, a pillow, the table, fence posts, whatever. I want to hump everything I see." "Yesterday my owner had just got out of the shower and was bending down to dry her toes, and I just couldn't help
myself. I hopped on her back and started hammering away." The Black
and the Yellow Labs exchanged a sad glance and said,

"So, it's nuts off for you too, huh?"

The Great Dane said, "No. Apparently I'm here to get my nails clipped!"

You'll need those Senior Moments mints too?

My ma in law is great, but I still follow the Adelaide Convention (covering behaviour and treaties between sons in law and mothers in law, 1882), and have Enter the Dragon as her ringtone.

I'm 46, and if anything, I've got more childish as the years go on. No werthers here, move along please.

Plenty of sun please, too.

I have a very fond memory of eating my first Werthers Original. I was on a trek with two friends through the mountains of the Chiang Mai province in Thailand. I recall one of my friends turning around and offering me a Werthers. My mouth was very dry so I took the sweet. What happened next can only be described as heavenly. The taste was sensational. I like Werthers. A lot.

Glad you spelt that right!

You and me both!!

Morning folks!!

I've just been to the docs, and to cut a long story short, levels in something in my blood that have been high are coming down, which is good news! I won't pop and it's nothing serious, but we have to keep an eye on it. Got an MRI in Jan and consultant appointments etc but basically, this is a good sign!! WOO!

    • Judging by last night at Wembley, Luke Combs should be in the conversation of headliner. The UK is having a moment with country music so I don't think it would be particularly left field either.

    • It feels really busy this year, loads of big groups of youngsters too. Slightly different vibe to previous years I've been. As with Tramlines, they're very chatty during sets and there's a constant stream of them in and out of the crowd... definitely feeling my age 😂   The Quarry stage I think is a lot smaller than previous years - seems similar size to Squid/Leadmill. Some sets have been difficult to get in.   I think I've reached my limit with mid-tier indie guitar bands. There's been quite a few this weekend where I've gone over to see them then walked away after 20 mins. Surprisingly, enjoyed the Fratellis set the most in this genre. Probably getting on for 20 years since I last saw them. Wasn't expecting them to do Yes Sir, I Can Boogie, which was fab!   Hugely enjoyed the Happy Mondays yesterday, and same but different with Radio Free Alice who I saw again on Friday, following Tramlines last weekend. A big run of pop acts today - Scissor Sisters will be fantastic!
    • I have a spare campervan pass to get rid of.  unable to use Kaboodle as it is only entry that they re-sell
