Panicking about T Day

I wouldn't normally panic about T-Day so early, but last year was our first all-out failure, so I admit to a few nerves. Having said that, now the worst has happened in terms of getting tickets, I know what it's like and I know it's not the end of the story - far from it. I managed to secure a working place after that and then put that back in the pot after eventually getting lucky in the resale. It's horrible missing out, but as GETOFFAMYLAWN says, it's an 8-month process to get a ticket sometimes - and so worth it.

My mistake last year was not going for the coach sale for myself and just for a friend, thinking I'd wait til Sunday. Don't know if it means anything, but I got through on the coach sale easily both times so I'll never not try that first now. Plus, coach was absolutely fine and quite a nice way to do it, trek to Greenwich notwithstanding.

Didn't go to Kasabian but I'd be amazed if they didn't have the biggest headliner crowd. Only one of the three who get any mainstream radio play at all, how could they not. The reviews, Twitter reaction etc for Arcade Fire and Metallica were really positive though, I think? So I'm not sure how much of an impact on ticket sales their 'weakness' will have. Their performances may have cancelled it out.

Metallica was crazy empty. I watched the first 20 minutes of Pixies in a fairly decent spot at the Other, before getting itchy feet that I would miss the 'amazing' Metallica intro (which turned out to be pretty shit). So I left, got from the Other into the front pit of the Pyramid about 20 people from the middle absolutely no trouble at all. The bit down the edge in front of the charity stalls at the side of the Pyramid field was deserted. So as it turns out I could've watched all of Pixies and got right in the middle for Metallica and literally just missed Creeping Death and no other songs. Bah.

They were freaking great though, so that made up for it. And I did see Pixies at Field Day. No real harm done.

Very glad I didn't bother with Dolly after these reports of that crowd size and the time it took to get out. Jesus christ. Public Service Broadcasting all the way.

I am another on the ticket paranoia bus...to the point where I might start roping in people who don't even want to go but love me to help this year :D

Metallica was crazy empty. We were up at the top of the field, beyond the cider bus and had metres around us for our best metal dancing :)

Dolly was busy, but I'd say Stones was busier. We headed straight for the top of the field but it wasn't much hassle getting in and we just waited for the crowds to thin before getting out.
