"Instant Fun" acts

Hey Peeps,

This thread is to throw up suggestions for little known acts at G2014 that pack a big punch - the kind of band that you might walk past and think, "WHAT's going on there?!", poke your nose in and before you know it you've been bouncing around with a grin on your face for 30 minutes.

What "good time music" is playing in 2014 that we might not know about, but shouldn't be missed?

I'll throw the first couple into the ring:

Shaolin Afronauts - creative, improvised Afrobeat

The Correspondents - Electroswing with spandex, running machine and a trampoline.

Can't wait!

Not sure if they count as little known but Hobo Jones and the Junkyard Dogs and not a band but go and see Jonathan Kay in Theatre, can't really explain what he does but just go with it when he starts you never know what will happen!

Saw Crystal Fighters in Manchester early this year before ever hearing them, absolutely blew me away. Such a great live band.

Not exactly little known in terms of Glasto acts, but Mik Artistik will be doing his usual 100 sets at this years festival no doubt and if you haven't caught him before, he is well sorth stopping and watching.

Too Many T's - They are Hip-Hop but with a bit of comedy, really happy jumpy round tunes. They are playing twice i think, Bimble inn on Friday night 01:45 - 03:00, and Greenpeace stage on Saturday at 17:00

Bhangra act who teach you moves. Great fun. If they are on in the morning it's a great way to shake the cobwebs and get an mini workout.

Jolly Jock on the Wednesday night at the Groovy Movie Picture House - he is ace, gives out free hugs sometimes. Has some really sing along stupid songs - defo have you smiling

Mr B the Gentleman Rhymer (Croissant Neuf). Chap hop mash up at its best. He also does rave classics with his banjolele and throws a few of his own compositions in "Why Can't There Be More Kissing in Porn?". Great late night fun.

I still dont get them, maybe one of those bands that come alive `live` but on record I really dont get the hype....just another indie band it sounds like to me.
