jeffie
Thankfully my samsung has removable battery so I've bought some spares and also a USB charging cradle so I can leave the spare battery charging in the tent off my Anker so not having to carry everything round with me
jeffie
Does anyone think the bigger capacity one worth the £10 extra? http://www.amazon.co.uk/15000mAh-Portable-Ultra-High-Capacity-External-Black/dp/B00D5T3QK4/ref=pd_cp_ce_3
snoopyhill
I have just bought a couple of 10000 power banks @ £12.99 for my daughters, decent reviews - mind you all the reviews appear to be from people who were sent them specifically to review! Anyway at £12.99 each I'm happy. http://www.amazon.co.uk/10000mAh-Dual-Port-Charger-1-0APortable-External/dp/B00J1V6ESQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1401791553&sr=8-1&keywords=Breett+10000mAh+Power+Bank+Dual-Port+USB+Charger These will be used to power Lumia 820's battery capacity 1620 mAh so I expect they will get around 5 charges from it, allowing for leakage etc.
MoilyX
£30 for the 13,000mAh Anker is expensive. The EC TechNet one is only £20 and is lighter (slightly, but it all counts!): http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00D76LQRU

robin
This EasyAcc one is what I've used the last couple of years and get through the whole festival with it: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B008YRG5JQ 12000mAh for £25.
HurrahBrother
Must admit I have plumped for one that uses AA batteries. You can always find AA batteries, also my torch uses them.

kerplunk
I had this with me at Beared Theory last week and it was so handy I'm considering taking it to glasto (it'll be on the car anyway...): http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_858735_langId_-1_categoryId_255206 It's got a 240V socket, a USB port and just because I could I inflated my trolley wheels with it too Edited June 3, 2014 by kerplunk

oindypoind
For those that asked about trickle feeding vs letting it run down, I just find that I prefer to know the phone is nice and full, rather than worry that I haven't checked it and when I need it, its run right down. As I mentioned before, I play a lot of Ingress which requires me to have my phone screen on, often in bright sunlight, with GPS and data connection going strong often for many hours, and the Ankers are the battery pack of choice for us serious players. I don't know of anyone that's had problems with them. The little one ( probably okay, but for Glastonbury I would say you would need something a bit more long lasting. (http://goo.gl/fn3Nsf) That said if I didn't already own one of the 12,000 mAh ones and an original Astro 3E (http://goo.gl/Gdo1op) I would probably buy the new E5 (http://goo.gl/1N6RX3) Also worth noting is that you really want 1AMP+ to charge your phone (which most of these external batteries can provide), this is something I never considered before, but it makes a massive difference to how quick it will charge, check your normal phone chargers at home too, its amazing how many are only 300 milliamps, so will take 3 times as long to charge. Also the cables themselves, some of the USB cables can really restrict what power you actually get. So the best thing to look for is a "power only" USB cable (http://goo.gl/mXOTk2) you can't use it to hook up and transfer stuff to a computer, but it should help charging no end. kidsfears
This is the one I'm looking at getting, was a bit skeptical about the reviews but it should be ok? iPhone five has a battery capacity of 1,440 MAH so should get 6/7 charges? Thrash D Garbage
Got one of these last year kept an iPhone 5 and an iPod classic going for most of the festival, although I wasn't using the phone as a camera too much and was leaving all data stuff switched off, when not deliberately sending an imessage. It was on its last legs by the Sunday night. http://www.amazon.co.uk/EasyAcc%C2%AE-12000mAh-Portable-Capacity-Smartphone/dp/B008YRG5JQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1401803877&sr=8-1&keywords=12000mah+portable+charger Got one of these bad boys to accompany it this year. With these 2 I should see out the festival no problems http://www.amazon.co.uk/EC-TECHNOLOGY%C2%AE-Ultra-high-Thunderbolt-Incredible/dp/B00F5Q4F0U/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1401803899&sr=8-1&keywords=22400mah+external+battery Edited June 3, 2014 by Thrash D Garbage
Gibbons
Just saw this on a deal website and thought of you guys: http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/5200mah-portable-external-battery-pack-power-bank-backup-charger-with-embedded-cable-1920622 Its a 5200 Mah and the reviews look good. When you use the code, it goes down to £12.99 which I thought was a great price for this. It'll charge an iPhone 2.5 times which would be just about enough for the festival if you go in with full charge and use it sparingly. Anyway, thought it was worth a mention. gooner1990
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/281171353359 Have picked up this.....hopefully it will last the course! Worst case senario I can charge it up at the car when I go for my beer refill on the Friday. TBH I turn all 3G off on my phone so only really use it for calls and texts so an iPhone5 should last ok. Englishdragon
Just a heads up for people stuggling to decide what to get. The current gen and last gen smart phones all have batteries at around 2500mah which means You will just about get 1 full charge from the EE ones (although you can swap them whenever apparently) A 7500mah will get you about 3 charges (this is the one I have and I had to charge it once to help me through the weekend) If you dont mind the weight or cost the 12500mah and above ones are the one you want, otherwise Id probably recommend the EE one if you use your phone a lot purely because the 7500 ones wont last you all weekend. I havent decided whenever Im going to get a couple of batteries to go alongside my 7500mah or if Im going to get that EE thing as backup

fewcloudy
I've had the Technet Powerbank 15000mHa for the last 3 months. When it's fully charged it recharges my iphone 4s from empty to full at least 5 times. Under 30 quid on Amazon... http://www.amazon.co.uk/TeckNet%C2%AE-15000mAh-Lightning-Sensation-Blackberry/dp/B00FAU7ZB2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1402255999&sr=8-1&keywords=tecknet fc
GeoHall
Because I don't really have £25 - £40 to spend on an external battery I bought one of the AA battery things (which costed like £3 from eBay) as I was hopeful I could just buy a huge amount of AA batteries from poundland, will this not work? If I'm charging my phone overnight (with it turned off)
