Worked on litter pick crew last year, maybe due to the decent weather but was such an easy way to get free ticket, 2 meals per day, hot showers (not once did have to queue) Luckily got early morning shift I wanted so was out watching bands by 12.30. Again like has been posted you don't have to queue to get into festival which is a bonus. However I will say that the shifts haven't been allocated yet so I do hope you get the morning shift you've requested

I've litter picked other festivals and glastonbury after the festival, I like litter picking, the people are very down to earth and its not stressful,

I think working at festivals great if you see it for the long haul basically the more years you work the more people you get to know the more sure your going to be able to get a ticket .

Being crew is a different experience, hope you have a great festival, if you have something to do at glastonbury you like doing Its not really work

nice one old son my mate did it last year and is doing it again this year and he does an early shift [ not sure on times ] cleaning the pyramid field and we camp at the top so its great for him as hes an early bird anyway so hes up does his shift and has the rest of the day to do as he likes .....the one thing he said [ and its only right ] is that if you sign up to do and you dont do your shifts you cant then apply again .

Jeezo you have it good at Glastonbury, I've been volunteering now for three years at all the Irish festivals, mainly for Festival Republic/POD productions. At Electric Picnic you work 4 x 8 hour shifts for your wristband, the only thing we get is an urn so we can have free tea and coffee, but they give no sandwichs or meals to their volunteers both advance and weekend. Yet everyone else on site working there does get meals including your volunteer coordinator supervisor, I call that really tight fisted but I still do this as I love the festival. The smaller Body & Soul festival which usually occurs the week before Glasto is the same, no meals or sandwichs for advance or weekend stewards at its event. I've tried looking up on Google to find if Irish festival volunteers have any rights, is there a charter we can hit the festival organisers with that will make them supply us a meal.
