Ticket Dilemma...

Not entirely sure what I should be doing here... I've already got a deposit put down but have also applied to work at the festival, which would be perferable as then I get paid, free travel etc. But I might not find out whether I've got a place to work until after the deadline for paying off the balance and I don't know what to do! Should I not pay off the balance in the hope I'll get a working place, which is pretty likely, don't want to have paid for my ticket when I don't have to! arrrgh!

Yeah, I’m not sure that the people on here who are going to fork out £220 for a ticket will sympathise too much….however - toss a coin:

Heads - Pay now and definitely go, without working. Free to do what you want

Tails - Don't pay now, risk not going at all but if you do go, you work.

Erm..... is that even a choice?

This is my 4th year going to Glasto but the 1st year I will be going as an actual punter. I worked for Oxfam the previous 3 years. Though I thoroughly enjoyed my previous experiences I am definitely looking forward to having free reign of the festival without worrying about any work commitments when there. Yes, I have to pay the £220 this year, but for me that freedom is worth it. Plus if you do pay then you know for certain that you are going.

I'd pay off the ticket balance, because you have until May to cancel, by which time you'll know more about your volunteer place. You're not going to save more by cancelling now instead of May - that £15 admin charge isn't going to increase once the balance is paid.

Ticket regs say that once you have paid your balance you can still get a refund upto 9th May minus £15 admin fee. So bit more leeway to make a decision

Think that's why there are two re-sales. One is to mop up tickets where people don't follow up on the initial deposit, and a second for people who get a refund between paying their full balance and May 9th
