Just watching the Chemical Brothers at Glastonbury, them playing the Avicci slot would have been awesome.

After watching them whoever booked avicci should hang there head in shame

Almost a crime that Chems weren't booked. That Glasto set was beyond brilliant.

I agree, I'm not that bothered that the booked Avicci, it's a new act to the festival and he's popular so why not. David Guetta being rebooked AGAIN is what's crap, Chem Bros replacing him would have been great, although the clash with Kasabian would be a pain.

Not a fan of any of those who have withdrawn but Elis could replace them with Suede,Bacharach and Ritchie.

All in the country just now.

Suede would be a great booking

The people who do the bookings for T have been going for the safe populist booking for years, beyond boring, it's all about the Benjamin's to them.......

There is, for the first time ever, no outstanding booking, no imagination. Last year we had the pixies, outstanding. The year before kraftwerk, inspired. This year is utterly bland........

Kraftwerk was empty remember. It's no wonder that they don't book those sort of acts if no one is interested. They book acts to suit their clientele. If the clientele like crap music then it's not really Ts fault.

Hi guys n gals, first post on the forum.

After being let down by Dave Grohl for my gigs at Wembley and Murrayfield and watching a couple of festivals over the last couple of weeks on the TV i need a gig to get my fix for the summer.

I used to go every year to T since they came to Balado as it isn't that far from where i stay (Fife). I used to love the vibe and the tunes up until 3-4 years ago. It has in the last 3-4 years turned into a pop festival and the acts have been more suited to teens imo. Maybe i am just getting too old for festivals but i miss the old days with decent rock bands.

This years lineup is pretty much the same as the previous years and i wasn't planning on going but as me and my mate missed out on the Foo's gigs we are thinking of going just for a day to ease our pain a bit.

I see there is plenty of tickets still available on Ticketmaster so getting one won't be a problem but i am still unsure on what day to go yet.

Today i decided to take a wee spirited drive up to Strathallen to scope the place out. I can see alot of problems traffic wise up there. The route i used to Strathallen Castle was mostly single track lanes from my side of the country and not a patch on Balado. I didn't see one signpost with T in the park on it from the East of Scotland. I did come home a different way which took me west before getting on the dual carraigeway to get back east and i did see some signposts coming back.so punter from Glasgow and other western towns should be fine. I can see what they mean by saying there are no way to walk to and from the site as it will be very dangerous. I think the site will look great with stunning views but i still think there will be massive problems trafffic wise.

Can anyone tell me whats the deal with ID for the event. Last December i was turned away from a Biffy gig at the Barrowlands for not having ID with me and the stewards were a joke asking me to see my Facebook on my phone to prove who i was. They didn't want to know that i had the receipt email on my phone and on my google account. Is T now going down this route to beat the touts?

It is an ever decreasing circle though, book shite, people who like shite turn up so the quality acts get small crowds so we book more shite as they are cheap.....

This carries on until it is all shite because it is only people who like fucking guetta or avcii who go. What then is the point in booking real bands.

It is refreshifcation of festivals......

Stu, you didn't see any signs as there isn't any up for the public routes yet. All that is in place, is the production ones that you saw

Ah right,  Still think it;s going to be a clusterfuck for people driving there.

Anyone seen TITP's tweet about Twin Atlantic an hour ago? Saying they're on main stage. No. No they are headlining the Radio 1 stage. Whoever does T's social media is consistently awful. They need someone new for next year because it makes the festival look very poor in terms of their communication with fans.

Perhaps one could hope that they have been moved to a Main Stage slot and they've got another headliner lined up for Radio 1.

Clutching at straws n that.

    • There is possibly a weak link in the ticket buying system, no matter how clever the technical controls get. I just spent 20 minutes this morning hammering the ‘Buy Tickets’ button while the web page kept telling me there weren’t enough tickets remaining to meet my request. Eventually it changed its mind and let me buy two tickets. Most likely because of failed payments in the queue ahead of me. So - just like it did in the good old F5 days - pig-headed blind persistence can sometimes pay off.   BTW, the tickets were for the Whispering Bob Harris evening in the Albert Hall on 2nd December.
    • All I'm asking for is Rancid
    • MGK would probably end my interest in this festival completely.
    • The basement, deafheaven, Mannequin pussy clash is v annoying. Also not sure why pinkpantheress is in the tent, surely going to be ramos.
    • It's just this:   Search up which orgs are currently in Tufton St, funded by Koch Brothers, Robert Mercer, and Matthew Elliot.   It's moved on from "Vote Leave" and "Leave Means Leave" into the lobbyists against net zero. It's the same funding from the same people in the same place lobbying our media and politicians.
