Probably, but V looked like it was going that way before the MTV deal was announced. Im just wondering what impact on finance and money behind the festival it could have. Will MTV be paying more to V than C4, and if they are what affect could it have on the size of acts being booked.

They've still never shown anything from the Legends of Summer residency last year though, unless I've missed it, grrr. Kind of surprising because Jay-Z let BBC TV have the whole of his set (which predictably turned into a Watch the Throne highlights reel with that tour having only finished the previous night) at the Hackney Weekend.

MTV doesn't really have any bearing on the quality (or not) of acts they'll book though. Like Zac kind of said, MTV Live show all sorts, I know for one that Biffy @ Ibiza Rocks has been on a shit load. Today there's Paramore, BFMV, Fall Out Boy, Green Day, MCR. Not exactly a great selection of bands, but hardly what you'd call 'typical V' or something

Right im gunna give my two cents on this.

ONE

4 music is CRAP.

Its coverage of V festival has and ALWAYS has been CRAP.

ALL other festivals get better coverage than V for one of the biggest festivals in the UK.

TWO

All those saying this is the end, more signs V is becoming a pop music festival

I got news for ya

ITS ALWAYS BEEN ONE.

It just so happens theres way less Blur, Pulp and whatever at the top of the charts and much more Calvin Harris and what not, V has always put on whats popular in the charts.

ALWAYS.

THREE

Know your history, this isn;t the first time V has been on MTV, when V started it was on MTV, It stayed on MTV until the early 2000's.

MTV was the sponsor of stage 2 back then, and they showed V on tv back then.

Some would argue that V was better back then also.

They're just a sponsor and they just will show the festival and they should do a hell of a better job than Channel 4 did.

End of rant.

Carry on.
