Vampire Weekend got 5 stars in the Guardian too 24 hours later. They're as good as Chic.

Chic are alright for a half hour or so but by the time he gets to playing that god awful Le Freak tune I'm thinking about which bar to hit. And in a detailed and strategic way too. Where can I get a whiskey, and quickly etc.

People who don't like band didn't rate their performance while people who do like band enjoyed their performance. Shocking.

I can only hope that personal opinions from journalists are used as cast iron evidence in other arguments, should settle things easily.

Mr W, spot on.

I just have a vision of this little group in one corner of Glastonbury with their very own rain clouds....

"It's all wrong", "Didn't used to be like this", "Remember 1980, that was a year", "Kids today, no idea how to have fun". "Damn that big fence, ruined the festival"......

bowie wrote the words and the tune to lets dance. If rodgers had any input in that, he'd have a writing credit rather than just a producing one.

Yet he is happy to claim it as his own.

producing and arranging a song isn't something to be sniffed at. In many cases, songs get totally transformed during either (or both) of those processes.

I've had scraps, or the smallest of germs of a song presented to our band, and they've only ended up decent by the sheer slog of trying it in different tempos, arrangements, even changing the tune, only for the the person who came up with the 'idea' to get full credit. It's a common issue with the process.. who gets the credit? (and the money...)

I agree with you entirely. As someone said, what would life on mars be without mick's arrangements.

But rodgers is so arrogant and full of himself (which I dont mind in a rock star, I love it in fact) when he has no right to be. By all means brag your heart out, but for heavens sake make sure you brag about things you actually created yourself...

it's a cold heart that can't feel good for a guy who has just found out that he hasn't got cancer, and gets this kind of reaction:

I saw Portishead though ^_^

    • Yeah there is no down time, I'm still tired and over thinking from last weeks work. A big reality check this week. If you just do it for the money you always will.

    • Robbie Williams would fit with the current state of the legend’s slot, and he’d bring the house down.
