Lineup 2015

The Strokes mate, established them as the most boring headliner out there

This. They are the single most boring act I have ever had to watch. I've never forgiven my friends who dragged me there and as we were at the front it would have been too hard to get out to leave half way through!

This wouldn't be too shabby, which means it definitely won't happen:

Friday/Saturday

Main Stage: The Prodigy // The Libertines // Alt-J // CHVRCHES // Don Broco
NME/Radio 1 Stage: The Gaslight Anthem // HAIM

Saturday/Sunday

Main Stage: The Black Keys // Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds // Lana Del Rey // The Maccabees // Miles Kane
NME/Radio 1 Stage: Sub Focus // Kendrick Lamar

Sunday/Friday

Main Stage: Metallica // Jack White // Enter Shikari // Frank Turner // Royal Blood
NME/Radio 1 Stage: Knife Party // Jamie T

Why didn't you quote mine? :P

I don't think they'd sub either. Last time they got a headliner's fee but a sub slot because of the difficulties the festival would face if they headlined and the reunion went tits up. If they bring out a new album and prove reliable then it'd be better for the festival to book them as headers.

If Jack disliked Glastonbury I can imagine him walking off stage at reading.

Oh and I reckon the Libertines will get rebooked, I'l keep predicting them until something solid comes that says they won't be doing it.

I reckon if they actually get this new album out - they will be one of the headliners next year.

How so? Please list a band which are more likely / pretty much nailed on.

We are still at the stage where it could pretty much be anyone, so why not suggest Libertines.

right, because;

"lack of evidence is evidence to the contrary" is a fucking dumb logical stance to hold - you do not hold all the cards, you don't know much about the situation at all, so no

also Please list a band which are more likely / pretty much nailed on. this is a strawman argument please don't do this

and i know we're at that stage - blind conviction is thus dumb as heck

Why would he walk off stage? Surely he just wouldn't play in the first place. It's not like he hasn't played Reading before, he knows what to expect.

White has walked off halfway through shows before and I can imagine if the audience was disrespectful (chanting Seven Nation Army during quieter ballads as a Reading crowd probably would) he'd leave

But there's a lack of evidence for anyone.

I keep predicting The Black Keys and The Prodigy despite there being no evidence, and will continue to do so until either there's evidence to suggest they won't play, or evidence suggesting other acts are more likely.

I'm pretty sure that's all Matt's saying with regard to The Libertines.

Meaning it's stupid to have blind conviction for anyone!!

So there's no point in predicting anyone on the 2015 lineup at all on the "Lineup 2015" thread? Its just a bit of fun, let people predict who they want regardless of whether their arguments are paper thin or not :P

    • Kind of crackers how fast this summer seems to be sailing by. But aye, must be some news soon!
    • I am very possibly wrong about this but I do think that the pitch you get allocated appears to be related to your time of arrival, (i.e. you get the next one available) rather than the price you paid for a small, medium or large pitch.  They all appear to be the same size to me.

    • Liddle: "Drop a small nuclear bomb on Glastonbury to immediately remove from our country almost everybody who is hugely annoying.”   Farage: Free speech!    Polanski: accepts a collaboration on 20 innocuous looking set of photos on instagram but doesn't notice that one that says 'making plans for Nigel' with a guillotine image.   Farage: I expect the MET police to arrest him.
    • I take my lad to the local non-league club - Royston Town - not he's 13, he goes there with his mates and he plays in their youth team.  Not many people there - lucky if they hit 800, but lovely supporting the town team.  I've took him to some league clubs too - Cambridge and Stevenage are great to visit and not crazy prices - his first one was Cambridge v Sunderland (I'm a mackem) when they were in league 1, so a great experience for him.  The England matches aren't too bad value either at Wembley - it's just the parking that stings you. Problem is, he's a City fan, so at some point have to bite the bullet and get him up to the Ethiad. Have done the tour, but he'd love a proper game....my wallet, less so!
