I'm pointing this bit out, there was a man and wife standing behind me at the rolling stones, they were the kind of snobby, 'Upper Class' kind of people, they just didn't fit in, i had people dancing to the side to the music before the stones, and a group sitting down, setting up some kind of wedding theme, and the woman just starts moaning to tell them to stand up! Taps the people to the side to stop dancing, because she 'cant concentrate', by this point, i was pretty out of it, after taking a couple of drugs, and wasn't causing any problem just enjoying myself, and she taps me on the shoulder to tell me to stop waving my hands and singing because she can't hear the vocals... couldn't believe it!

And again agreeing with the latter parts here, what an excellent post. I've only been 3 times, but i give a crap, i took my rubbish to the bin, left no mess or anything and genuinely care for Glastonbury, cause it's my favourite place, the people who just disgraced the place was ridiculous, but saying that, I was off my face from 6pm onwards most nights, and i literally only met wonderful wonderful people, who made my festival the best one yet. If anyone bumped into me fist bumping basically everyone whilst i was High as a Kite, then you probably met me!

Never the less, same again for me 85% People are truly magnificent, care about the festival, had a wonderful time, shared amazing memories and were brilliant, just arseholes and 'pretentious' people who don't actually appreciate being at, what in my opinion is the best place in the world.

It is, and i find the people I really didn't like at Leeds and V were the minority who i really didn't like at Glastonbury.

that's exactly it. I'm 23 but an internal grumpy old man and so I largely tend to steer clear of all the SE corner stuff, so of an evening the rest of the festival is quite pleasant.

On the whole I thought that the demographic was still old this year. My mates who were here for the first time were all taken aback by how much older the crowds were and I suppose an increasing ticket price is going to do that - financially, Glastonbury is more accessible to older people I suppose.

But on another note, people who update Facebook/Twitter during a gig can f*ck off. Seriously.

Yep. we encountered a few twats. Friday night and my son wanted to see The Courteeners. I wasn't that fussed about them so hubby and son went into the John Peel to see them and I stayed out in the field outside way back from the tent sitting on an abandoned chair debating whether to go and see Glen Hansard or wait for them and then go and see The Arctics together. Cue some absolute bellend who decides to come up from behind me and pull the chair out from under me 'as a joke'. Very fucking funny - it then took me an hour to walk up to Paines after jarring my (already knackered) back. At the time, it ruined what had otherwise been a perfect day. What upset me more than anything is the dick and his bunch of merry men couldn't see me from the front - they had absolutely no idea if I was 8 months pregnant, a 70 year old or if I was disabled

If you're reading - I really really hope your joke fucking amused you! I also really hope you fell in the longdrops you complete tool!

During Bobby Womack 2 girls were standing near me to the left of the stage, taking pics of all the guys and girls(yes, girls) that were pissing up against the fence there. One girl turned round and FACED THE CROWD and just went. Dropped trou and just went. Some people are just sick. There are toilets 2 mins away you animals!!!!

I think the only way the litter issue will be dealt with is if the festival loses its licence for a year, similar to the fence jumping era. The litter droppers are like spoilt children - they will only listen when you take away their toys.

I was chatting to a youngish lad on Saturday and he said Bestival didn't have the same litter problem nor the same 'annoying crowd'....he felt that Bestival wasn't far off becoming a viable alternative to Glastonbury. Having never been to Bestival, how does it compare... is it a 'smaller Glastonbury' but without some of the issues Glasto has?

Not got anything to base it on being first time attenders to any festival.

Litter while it looked like a problem we had the guy who organised the pickers saying it was tidiest he ever seen it on the local news (we live the other side of Shepton) - still two weeks work though, but less than half the usual clean up apparently.

Just seemed to be a really nice atmosphere in general, considering the amount of people that is amazing!

Had but one run in with a bunch of posh teenagers from London who wanted to heckle during Mumfords - was dealt with with a shout of STFU from my wife which made them leave.

I had a genuine interest in watching Elvis Costello and Primal, so was camped in the same spot for most of it. Then a group of idiots turned up, to the point where it was unbearable. They were arsing about in front of us while Primal Scream were on, not even watching the band. We decided that it would be a lot to put up with for another few hours so picked a better spot for The Stones. Then, the same sort of thing happened. Another group of idiots appeared to the right of us, who to be fair did seem to enjoy The Rolling Stones, but there was the pissing on the floor and over people in front of them, about 6 people doing it about 3 times each throughout the show. They also broke out into a fight on 3 occasions, all between members of their own party, and this is while The Stones were still on.

Ive been to Bestival twice over the years, once in its early days and it was like an old free festival (Bit chaotic with illegal sound systems popping up all over the place etc) and then later on .Had a good atmosphere ,good people but I found it all a bit squashed in ,lots of bleed from one stage to another .Tight security aswell .I think it would be a lovely festival if it was taken to a larger site ,perhaps Eastnor Castle in The Malvern Hills as an example, tons of space there.IOW is a pain in the bum to travel to.

OH SORRY I'LL STAY HOME NEXT YEAR, YEAH?

If you can't tolerate an accent, to the extent that it apparently elicits utter dejection and constitutes as "lower standards", get help.

I'm serious. This is your problem, and it's a huge problem if it matters that much.

People from Liverpool at Glastonbury. Lord help us!

Only things I really noticed were the same things I have noticed every year.

- the odd obnoxious, "I'm off my face" pric* who thinks he has a right to touch you, get up in your face or invade personal space when you really don't want it (these people are perhaps the worst type at the festie),

- morons who turn up into a large and already packed crowd and shove everyone out of the way because they decide to turn up 30 seconds before the next act is due on. I mean, who turns up to Rolling Stones - biggest crowd in the history of the festival and tries to get to the front just before the opener! D'uh!

But generally, I thought the atmosphere was the best I've experienced in quite a few years. And the points above are the same at every festie I've been to.
