When is a queue not a queue?

Just announced on the official website, access to Shangri-la after 10pm will be through Bellas Field near the cabaret tent...and it says to take notice of the Sequential Access Management System, which apparently is not a queue.

Go figure?

There are very clearly marked 'entry' and 'exit' points so I reckon this is just going to be a fancy one-out-one-in system, just like the bouncer on your local bar or club with his little clicker counter thing.

Ooooo, a shiny new Sequential Access Management System eh ? That sounds nice (although I'm not sure if it's actually Geek Speak or Marketing BS ) but either way if it means there ISN'T a queue then it's gotta be good and all that ! Hmmmm, maybe they will even have a similar Sequential Access Management System at the gates on Wednesday as well so there won't be any queue there either :P

it's a knockout

if looks could kill, they probably will

with great website news, Glasto without queues

... and don't be snogging those baboons while you're queuing your Access is being Sequentially Managed either cos it's way to pervy even for the naughty corner

This year arcadia moving may well take a lot of heat off the south east part of the site also they are trying to make the dance area more interesting, I just hope they dont drive away all the crowds as I will have nothing to do, but hopefully any delay getting in will not be that long .

Apart from making the whole south east area of the site bigger I'm not sure what else they could do ?

Really this sort of access is only there because the area is so popular if you didnt have it at times it could be dangerous, if the crowds go somewhere else, I imagine we would have more open access,

Im working in this area and part of my job will be wandering round and seeing how crowded things are so I'm pretty interested in whether people will not bother coming in and stay in silver hayes or arcadia, the traffic on the railway line between the se and arcadia will also be interesting

    • There’s a few in there which could go either way or I’m not bothered if I miss but think that’s now be pretty set.  Few rubbish clashes like Kasabian/Loyle plus Reytons/Pixies/CMAT but I’ll head with the lads to the most popular one.   (And yes no Byrne or Twigs, just can’t into either)
    • I saw somewhere they were advertising Lewis' day as him live on Glagow Green and only mentioned Amy Mcdonald and CMAT as support, 0 mention of the festival  I completely agree this will probably be the last one which is a shame because the first 2 seemed so promising and now its turned into middle of the road rubbish with acts you can see everywhere else  Anyone know if the BBC are covering it next week as it'll be fascinating to see how full (or empty) it is
    • Did anyone catch Viagra Boys last night? A rollicking good set, with a little more free jazz than I expected.   if you’re up early, Walabi is doing a super job in the Cupra Pulse. There till six.

    • They really dropped a bollock on their lineup this year. They went with Richard Ashcroft because he did well as Oasis support - But realistically, you're not getting 50k people in a field to hear the 4 or 5 songs they know at like £70+ a ticket. Can't get my head around the Kasabian booking, either. Finsbury Park was a bold move for them, and yes it sold out, but I think you're more likely to see people make the journey to London if they want to see them rather than Glasgow. A second similar capacity show was always going to be a big ask for them.
