What food are you taking?

A good way of keeping cold food fresh during the day if it gets hot is to wrap it up in your sleeping bag, as well as keeping you warm at night it will do the opposite during the day, just make sure it is well sealed and doesn't leak, there would not be anything that smelled much worse by Sunday night than a five day old meat juice soaked sleeping bag.

Also never done this but has anyone froze any of their cans of beer to use as ice packs, if anyone has I wondered does it ruin the beer or do the cans explode in the freezer or when thawing out? Any feedback appreciated as it is something I am considering doing this year if it works.

I saw a Welsh Oggie stand at the Malvern Spring Show last month and after handing over £5 or thereabouts for a delicious lunch, dinner and evening snack all in one I casually mentioned that I was looking forward to seeing them at Glastonbury for more of the same. .... "We're not there this year. ... around twenty of us haven't been invited back. .. I'm not sure why" the man said. I hadn't noticed there were two stands so I'm not sure which one it was and I'm wondering what others are going to be missing. If it's one of the "gourmet" burger vans I couldn't give a toss, but if it's anything West Holts way it doesn't bear thinking about.it.

As long as the fish curry fans are kept happy I am sure all will work out well. Would be a shame if it were the better of the oggie sellers that was left out, but we shall see.

Pound shops are great. I have a huge stash of assorted muesli bars and other stuff that won't melt in the blazing sunbeaten tent which has been enriched with poundshop bargains lately. I also use them for all my bungee, tape and space blanket needs.

We currently have goahead bars, nature valley bars, hobnobs, pringles (they're my hangover cure), salted peanuts, peanut butter, tinned ham, smarties, popcorn and assorted sweets.

Planning on buying some fresh fruit and bread/wraps before we go and maybe some more breas/wrap fillings. Also considering cereal for the milk tractor.

This now seems like quite a lot of snack food but when I'm hungover I just eat all day so it could turn out quite expensive!

Having just been subjected to the shite at the IOW, I am now very apprehensive about the food at Glasto.

I know there are good stalls, but I have been "ripped off" too.........

I may have to replace one of my "main meals" with self bought stuff.

In which case.......

Cereal bars, nuts, pasties (cold) and pringles (doesn't matter if they get broken).

Washed down at lunch with cider, vodka redbull for desert--> Job done

I haven't been to IoW but the food at Glastonbury is by far the best in terms of quality and variety than any other festival I have been to. You'll be missing out if you don't sample it, don't let a bad experience elsewhere put you off. Crisps and cereal bars are no substitute for the great stuff on offer, check out the 'Glastonbury Food with Pictures' thread on here

My Dad has got some old Army ration pack meals, which will do a couple of mornings. I’m going to make some little pasta tubs for during the first couple of days – they’ll be edible. Maybe some packet soups. Then the usual cereal bars etc for snacking on. There are some decent food places at Glastonbury, but I only really want to be having one thing a day, otherwise it ends up costing a fortune, when you add alcohol on top of that! Sometimes being able to have food at your tent, made quickly when you get up, is a god-send! Sometimes there’s nothing worse than having to trek somewhere, hungover and a bit fuzzy, to queue for a bacon roll!

The Famous Welsh Oggie stall is going crazy and getting all excited on Twitter so I think you can all relax and assume the good one is there. @WelshOggie

Shockingly I have NEVER had one and this is my sixth Glasto. Something I'll be putting right next Wednesday (and then I won't need to eat for the rest of the week, right?)
