Off to see Bruce Springsteen at Hampden Park tomorrow night - hopefully a dress rehearsal for the Missus and I, jumping up and down and singing our hearts out. Then, probably Jimmy Cliff at the O2 ABC on Saturday. We were gutted we missed Springsteen in 2010 and the Missus was absolutely made-up to see Jimmy in 2011 (ended up planting a very damp kiss on his cheek at the merchandise signing afterwards) - so, all Glasto related (sort of).

I saw bon jovi in Cardiff from cheap 12.50 seats, no Richie sambora, nevertheless good value gig, solid two and half hours supported by kids in glass houses , 5/10 for them.

Next Friday I have mrs browns boys live, seen it before great to get in mood after my last day of work

saw Meat Puppets 2 weeks ago, saw Mudhoney last week, which were both great fantastic and intimate gigs. Was really impressed by them both as I was expecting nothing but pub-level from the two and they delivered so much more than I could have expected. Got Deerhoof this Sunday, which should be fun.

Love Saves Sunday was about 3 weeks ago now, and it was utterly superb way to set Glasto up. Saw Clean Bandit, Soul II Soul, Ben Pearce, Ghostpoet, Julio bashmore and Chic. Perfect mix, and had a very Glasto-vibe to the event. Bar the bad sound, and technical issues it really was a spectacular event.

Seen Metz/Meat Puppets/Mudhoney last week which was great, going to Bruce Springsteen tomorrow night at Hampden Park, so hoping the big stadium style gig gets me (even more) excited for Glastonbury!

I had a mini-festival weekend of gigs a few weeks ago.

Fri - Mount Eerie in a church (awesome)

Sat - Field Day inc. Savages, Mount Kimbie, Four Tet and Animal Collective (awesome)

Sun - Arrested Development came out (not a gig, but still awesome)

Mon - Flaming Lips at The Roundhouse (fucking awesome)

I'm also seeing Patti Smith tomorrow - perfect pre-festival warm-up, although by rights she should be there.

I've had a really busy month gigwise so it's been getting me in the mood: The Specials, Hypnotic Brass Ensemble (as a Glasto warm-up) and PSB (as I'll miss them at Glasto) to name a few.

    • Wednesday is a nice addition imo
    • Kronenberg in a tent as well IIRC but Brooklyn Pilsner was easier to get without queueing and was everywhere across the festival.
    • I think they'll end up doing something due to pressure and bad PR. Maybe they do a discount code for next year or bar credit or something along those lines.    I agree though. I acknowledge that the lineup is huge but surely you can't cancel 33% of the headliners and not reimburse in some way. Their insurance will probably cover their fees for MA, Doja, Bad Gyal and Mac DeMarco due to force majeure.
    • Looks like nothing for weekend ticket holders. You'd expect a goodwill gesture.
    • Enough has been covered about how much of a sh*t show that was, so I'll just say, Massive Attack and it's relationship with this festival (and potentially me) are f**king cursed.    They were announced in 2020 when I first got excited about seeing them. They were subsequently on the poster for 21, 22 and now 26. This time I was in actually in the crowd close to the stage waiting for them twice haha. I give up!
