Who can live up to QOTSA 2011?

Probably Pumpkins. Not going to be close, but has a strong chance of being epic in other ways.

QOTSA in '11 was something a bit special for glastonbury. Proper rock in a headline slot, hopefully not a one off. It was the perfect end to our festival, my son and I proper loved those lasers.

as much as we on this forum don't want to believe it, The xx are absolutely massive and will pull a headliner sized crowd. i hate to admit it but i don't think the Pumpkins could pull the same crowd that The xx could. The xx would be dangerous in a tent

yeah regardless of them probably not being able to pull the same crowd as they used to / as The xx, them subbing seems very bizarre. times change and all that but the Pumpkins just seem like such a legendary band to me that subbing the second stage of a festival is just odd

i think i'm more excited for Smashing Pumpkins and Dinosaur Jr than anything else. though i've somewhat grown out of the heavier side of music (well... i listen to it a lot less than i used to), i think seeing those two, at Glastonbury, will be absolutely magical

i dunno man, i saw them for a bit at dour festival last year and they didn't grip me enough to stay that long - then again it was mid afternoon, fucking rainy and miserable, on a mainstage and i was in a phase in my life where i was pretty much borderline psychotic and therefore wasn't much of a critic haha, but still didn't seem particularly thrilling as a live act, though i got lots of love for them on record.
