Are they? That's interesting. They've been talking about this 'prestigious' slot they've got at R&L this year but we don't know what it is yet, I'm reckoning either NME headline or third main, either of which would cause mayhem :P

I dont think they are deserving of a slot that high. Bastille maybe, but not the 1975

think T in the park are trying to rival V for being shit with announcements...their heavily trailed big announcement today was...wait for it...Paolo Nutini playing. lol..

Infact I think it's the best way to announce.

hey we have an announcement of our lineup tomorrow, lets give you one act as we announce it's tomorrow

Nme headliner against blink would not surprise me at all. Even if I think they are terrible I can see the mass appeal they have at the moment.

Ah man I forgot! Ok against QOTSA/PARAMORE then? Sorry to talk about R&L in the v thread. Got to be better than five and mcbusted though

I thought that, but from the way the names were listed on the announcement poster, I think they may have been sorted by stages, which would make them main stage. They also weren't announced specifically as an NME headliner like Disclosure were, so I don't think they will be one.

And yes, that's true

Is that the second stage? If so, I doubt it. It's bigger than the NME at R&L. Maybe sub it or something.

MTV stage (guessing thats what it will be called) is the 4music stage from last year, as MTV have taken over sponsorship so yeah its the second stage. Subbing second stage would be good for them too, they had a huge crowd last year and now they have won awards they do deserve a bigger slot

I got so scared by the prospect of JT only doing half his setlist at V that I just bought a ticket for his tour. I'm excited but the mid-range tickets cost £95, so it looks like we could have another 'Beyoncé using up so much budget that the undercard includes Jams Arthur'-type catastrophe on our hands. :(

They're about similar, although I'd give The 1975 a leg up before Bastille because I think they've got more mass appeal, and they sold out 3 nights at Brixton, 3 nights at Manchester, (as well as the rest of their tour), and I think Bastille only did 1 extra London date on top of theirs

Plus the 1975 have put in the graft to get where they are

wot

Bring Me at V, imagine the #scenes

no chance the 1975 would ever play above Bastille at V though (even if Matty hadn't w*nked off to R&L again). I can see Bastille doing a Kings of Leon and getting unfairly high slots at festivals for ridiculously long in the future just off the back of one song.

personally don't want to see The 1975 given a high slot at V anyway, having seen how having a dead crowd waiting around for the big pop acts later killed off The Vaccines and TDCC in terms of a live show in mid-afternoon slots at last year's V, Matty deserves better :(

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
