I'd guess most people that are going last year and this year that saw Calvin would see C&S. The people I was around weren't too bad at Calvin Harris so I aren't too worried. Unless they clash with someone we really want to see I think I'd be seeing them.

Can someone clarify if the prodigy are even a possibility as I thought they were exclusive for sonisphere

not really

aren't they a bit too ego-centric to get a shit slot at an allegedly shit festival or is that someone else? fuck i'm tired

definitely don't think so, from headlining fests in Europe to playing fifth at R&L and doing an academy tour, yet putting in the same effort for each and every show, it's clear that they appreciate whatever they can get

Yes the people that were at Calvin around me weren't awful, but there were a few idiots, but I imagine the chase and status crowd is similar to that of Labrinths both years, both that I've gone to, seen the type of crowd and immediately left, chase and status are good, i saw them once, but most of the audience was middle aged, and if a middle aged lady tried to have a brawl with me, Itd be more funny than annoying

Ah right okay. Must be thinking of someone else. Cheers.

You were lucky.

We saw his warm up fuck buddy Rita Ora before him and the crowd waiting for him was absolutely fucking terrible. Then we went and saw Jamie Cullum instead and it was the most pleasant crowd of the weekend. Happy days.

Has anyone else seem the pictures V has uploaded to their Facebook? Do you think they could mean anything by them?

No. Other than reinforcing the new colour scheme.

I have been posting on these boards now for 10 years, and there is only one comment I can make about V2014 - this is the dullest and most uninspiring (and that says something) build up to an announcement ever.... maybe that's a blessing in disguise?

Beady Eye?

Also, re C&S, the crowd was horrible at Leeds, C&S were good, but it was full of dickheads, I'd say it wasn't helped by Eminem being on afterwards, but the crowd was fine afterwards for him. If they played V, I'd wager that the crowd would be just as shite

If they were up against Jay Z or Kanye (wont happen) or someone like that then the bad crowd may be split so the C&S crowd may not be as bad if they were to headline 2nd stage.

As it stands right now, who would bigger/deserves a bigger spot at V; The Prodigy or C&S based on V's demographic

I found the crowd alright with Rita in Hylands

The Prodigy could headline or sub, but I think Chase & Status would still only sub

Welcome back Bunny pal, haven't heard from you in a while :)

the wait has been killing me to find out who's at V but now we're only 10 days away I'm glad we're in the position we're in where literally everything except maybe one headliner will be a surprise...take that over R&L drip-feeding info so slowly that everything gets so overanalysed that it doesn't seem exciting anymore.

About a quarter of the way back but pretty central-ish.

No someone similar to Elbow, sub festivals loads and are always talked about stepping up but never seeming to finally do it.

Not looking forward to the Kanye crowd at Wireless. It's in the roughest area of Birmingham, fuck knows why, if it wasn't such a rare opportunity I'd give it a miss.

Like I said, you were obviously lucky!!! They got involved, it wasn't bad from that point of view, it was just everything else...got more piss thrown over me during that 50 minutes than during the whole of the rest of the weekend.

I didn't find any crowds top bad all weekend really, even some of the people for Beyonce were annoying but I managed with it.

Yes the Village People are headlining.

Although the team one could mean Lorde (-_-)

    • Lovely Brexit doc on bbc2 for anyone who wants to relive those golden years.
    • I think some folks are underestimating how many millennials, now into heavier music, were genuinely also into things like techno and happy hardcore in the 90s and early 00s. Scooter may be about is commercialized as it gets when it comes to happy hardcore and techno, but for many, they won't be just a 'silly act' they will be a genuine nostalgia act.
    • Can anyone share please as can’t access the app
    • Someone said something along the lines of "the lows were really low but they highs were really high" and I think that sentence sums up my ps experience this year. Thursday was a downer (even though I got to see men I trust, geese, oklou and fcukers), but the weather, the missed shows and the uncertainty (those comms...) made it a bad day. Friday and Saturday on the other hand where rly good, a bunch of amazing shows each day (The Cure one was quite something), that surprise on Saturday...   Will be back next year, hope they get another impressive lineup as this year (quality and quantity wise) and that tickets and  primarily hotels don't get much more expensive.
    • Rosalia Radiohead NIN MGMT Bjork David Byrne   Also Vince Staples' new album is cool. I could see him returning.
