Muppetmark
oh god i would have such fun in the v festival headline slot. The set list I would use.
Gucci Piggy
Obviously it wasn't like that...but I remember reading on this forum someone suggested that the reason Kasabian didn't replace Oasis was because they had already been booked for the following year...not that hard to understand?!
the wonderwhy
This has probably already been mentioned, but Kasabian are exclusive to HRC.

daniel.k
Get a few Steps songs in there Yeah I think Snow Patrol are out due to their only European appearance in Ireland Are Arctic Moneys exclusive to Glasto? Kasabian exclusive to Hard Rock Calling? Mumfords doing other places too, plus they will be doing Gentlemen of the Road tour thingy Gaga could be expensive but I doubt more than Beyonce Florance would be cheaper Just to name a few
daniel.k
Would be fun to get Noels High Flying Birds to headline while Beady Eye are on the stage below them Before anyone jumps on that and says Noel isnt doing fests this years it was a hypothetical joke

Kris_lcfc
Can rule muse out as a replacement, they're doing a fest in South Korea V weekend
Shootenanny!
If Beyonce did pull out then Rihanna seems like the obvious replacement to me. She's doing festivals, not exclusive to anywhere and would sit reasonably with Beyonce fans compared to the likes of Arctic Monkeys or Kasabian. Shootenanny!
Yeah Rihanna would be a good replacement but would V want to have someone already headlining another festival. I could see Rihanna as a good choice though, as long as she does a good show at T in the Park. If she is a let down there then i would be too bothered
thewayiam
The terms and conditions, which are a legally binding agreement, explicitly state that the line-up is subject to change - ticket buyers don't have a leg to stand on if they're going to try and claim on this. daniel.k
I just looked at what happened when Oasis cancelled and I dont think anyone really got their money back. V would have all the lose ends and loopholes closed up, especially after the Oasis thing. I think V will say sorry but they wont refund anything because the line up is subject to change, they even put it on some posters. I dont think The Script are big enough for a bump up to headline. Yeah they are big and thats why I think they suit subbing. The Script could maybe headline 4Music but not Main. V have time to get someone in to replace Bey. If Bey pulled out a few days before then we could understand what they do and bum someone up, but they have time and money
DarthSaul
Im pretty sure you dont even get a refund if the whole things rained off so i highly doubt anyone could get a refund for one headliner pulling out
daniel.k
If the event is cancelled because of rain I think a refund is allowed, but ill check the V site now
Bobinup
A PDF covering Ticketmaster's Missed Event Policy is here - http://www.magroup-online.com/TMS/GB/EN/TMS_GB_en_TCs.pdf Basically, they don't let you claim on "not enjoying" the event - which presumably would be what they would regard a headliner that you desperately wanted to see dropping out as. And obviously different ticket providers will have different policies. Edited May 18, 2013 by Bobinup
daniel.k
From V website 21) In the event of cancellation of the festival by Roseclaim Ltd, their responsibility for refund is limited to the face value of the ticket only So if its cancelled due to rain you could get a refund. 20) Whilst every effort is made to ensure the full, advertised bill performs this ticket is for an event and not a specific artiste/band. Roseclaim Ltd reserves the right to change the bill or running time without prior notice. So you wouldnt get a refund just for acts dropping out I don know what they would do if one day happens and one day is cancelled
Bunny
The more you think about it, if she's pregnant, she won't be there. All V Festival is to her is another date in her diary and another pay day - and money is not something she and Jay-Z are exactly short of! I hope that her friend Mr Martin offers to step in and help out - but I just can't see this happening...
tom taylor
Still not forgiven Oasis for pulling out however Snow Patrol took the headliner slot very well indeed! Rihanna I thought was surprisingly good at Hylands Park a couple of years back!
daniel.k
I cant see Mr Martin stepping in, but it would be great to see. One of the only acts I can think of that can live up to the same hype
daniel.k
Rihanna would be in Helsinki end of July and Australia end of September so she is definatly free, but she might want that time off to relax abit. We never know though
Prat.
Basically nobody except 1D is as hyped as Beyoncé, so whoever V get is going to be a letdown in comparison. (Barring Prince playing, and frankly I think that's about as likely as Michael Jackson). Edited May 18, 2013 by Prat.
daniel.k
I think Michael Jackson is more likely than Prince I think Coldplay have a similar hype to Beyonce
