Jules007
I was one of many who camped at the bottom of pennards during the epic rain of 2005. Two glasto virgins I met on a lift sharing website camped next to me. As I finally got up at 10am on that Fri morning, floating in my tent on a blow up bed :-/ ........I noticed my new mates paperback novels floating around in the muddy water. Not sure what they expected if they thought they were going to get a bit of reading in!
Jules007
Brilliant!! We're on page 4 of this thread and no-one has put 'hair straighteners' yet. Disappointed...

BA4 4BY
Wild lettuce. Slightly contrary to the thread title, I did actually use it once but then never used it again. Other than the sourcing of it, there's nothing wild about it.
mr gumby
In 2010, my first year, I insisted on taking a bag of logs for the camp fire. They stayed in the car boot and got taken home because after 3 trips in baking sun, no way was I going back to the car again!
Bexxxxx
Gaffer tape. Not sure why I even bring it. I think I suffer from paranoia where gaffer tape is concerned. I have a feeling that if I don't bring it bad things will happen.

Phil-itfc
A first Aid Kit - thankfully. on the subject of cereal bars, I take a plastic bowl and a pack of cereal and buy a pint of milk from the tractor each morning.

timbrass
My advice to check the tent in advance having been ignored, my daughter phoned me up on Wed afternoon whilst I was still at home.... "Dad, where's the tent poles?"....errr..."in the garage where you left them" I replied. By the time I delivered them on Thursday there was nowhere nearby to pitch it, so it stayed in the bag.... _jojo_
once after a nasty off on an MTB I used it to "bandage" a severely gashed ankle. Worked, but fucking hurt taking it of at A&E afterwards.

yellowsnow
I pack cereal bars and always eat them, but they never give me enough energy so I end up just buying breakfast anyway.
ink1ing
I take a pack of nutrigrains and usually eat them. They're good for when back at camp feeling peckish and give a bit of slow release energy.
