I did mine about a week or 2 before the festival. I made 330ml with 2 normal bags of skittles. Took out the purple and green (ate those), left it til they all dissolved, sieved it and it was yummy.

I followed a online recipe pretty closely, so I was surprised how bad it tasted. Actually, I think it was ok at first and got rancid pretty quickly. Or maybe it was more me trying really hard to like my creation, but eventually failing

Staff discount too ;-)

The booze except high end spirits all come in plastic bottles too (safety reasons apparently) which is handy. Can only take a 1 litre off at a time though.

47.5% Gordon's makes crew go from sober to emotional in about 2/3 glasses.

Tescos are doing 20 Fosters for £12. Easy to get on a sack truck and would be surprised if there are any deals cheaper than that!

EDIT: Do it online, collection and use code XXLLPT to get £12 off anything over £60. Getting 5 crates of 20 for £48 - Less than a tenner a crate

I've found that locally, morissons is great for consistent low alcohol prices (especially gin) however the big tescos already seem to have a ridiculous number of beer offers (we have started filling the garage already).

The slow gins (6 bottles this year) are already fermenting so thats what I'm looking forward to :)

Oh and of course the famous "pimms" alternative: Aldi Austins.

Before 2011 I remember reading these forums and people were talking about boxes of Westons Cider. Took a couple to the festival as a result (freezed them beforehand and drank them chilled). Great to sling the bag in a backpack along with a couple of cups when wandering round. Looking online I can only see 3L boxes but I'm convinced I had bought 5L boxes for £5 each in ASDA. Am I getting confused and bought 3L boxes for a fiver each? Anyway if anyone spots any deals on this stuff I'd appreciate the heads up :)

    • Blink 182 have been announced here at Rock im Park for next year this evening so you'd think Download will follow up from Green Day and get them. Be a mad miss if they don't.   In which case I'm going with Blink, Slipknot and the 3rd could be many options. If they get Foos for the 3rd it'll be the best trio I can remember for a long time. It would absolutely rip this years as a trio to shreds and I say that as a LP big fan.
